[quote="Sly Fox"]Not quite sure what to make of this trailer ...

1. It looks very sketchy as a story about Noah.
2. It looks like a good movie.
3. It looks like a "Bible reMix" with LOTR.

Lord of the Ark? :D

Considering Hollywood book adaptations always skew the original manuscript I can't really get too up in arms about it. Now, if he starts letting people in at the last minute or has a gay lover (no offense ATrain) than I'd have an issue.

Not a large talent pool of 600 year old actors

And even fewer for Noah's 969-year-old grandpa, Methuselah, who is played by Anthony Hopkins.

Trailer looks solid. Some interesting things have been said of the movie such as the reason for the flood is God being upset at the way man is treating his environment (early global warming I guess). Also, I've heard the movie includes a fair amount of screen time for the Nephilim.

Should be interesting, to say the least.

I think that looks pretty awesome. I mean, of course they're going to spice it up a little. It's not like the biblical account was a manuscript. They certainly can ruin it with some controversial details but from the 2 minutes I've just seen it looks pretty good.

They got the fountains of the deep part in with the rain, and with an actress like Emma Watson, I think it has the potential to be an excellent movie.

The slower aging process with Pre-Flood conditions has always been the narrative in most Evangelical circles. I think it fits here.

I'm a huge Emma Watson fan and can't wait to see Noah. In fact, Julie and I made Emma's Noah pic out of about 2,800 pieces of colored chocolate candies. I am terrible at inserting images but I will give it a try:

(This was my attempt at getting a retweet from a famous person, but no such luck...)

I'm still excited to see the movie.

I don't expect the movie to be accurate. That being said, I wish we had more people like Emma Watson in Hollywood. People that seem to care about things other than what people think of them.

Here's a youtube clip of her talking about the volunteer work she did with Peopletree,

Ken needs to lighten up. I like some of the additions to make it a better story. It will get more people to read the actual account so that's a big win. I just saw Enders Game and Catching Fire, both 'based' on books and both not 100% faithful to those books. But they were both really good movies and have caused an uptick in people buying the books. The one thing he did point out was that the only thing viewed was a 'rough cut' and a lot can happen between a rough cut and final release
