Doesn't really matter at this point honestly. The only way we get in is if we win and several CCU players are ruled inelligible and they have to forfeit conference wins

Considering the school involved ...

Essentially since Chuck South lost last week there will not be a 3-way tie for the title. And the head-to-head winner of any ties gets the auto bid. So CSU gets it if they beat us and CCU does if we win. Pretty simple. Our only hope is an at large bid following our victory and a bunch of other bubble teams losing.

Sounded like he was asking about at-large bids. LUalum, there are no playoff tiebreakers for at-large bids. There is a playoff selection committee who selects who they think are the best teams outside of the auto-bids. Kind of like the way they select the teams for the NCAA Tournament in basketball.

If we beat Chuck South do we still win a share of the Big South? I do not like that we share a championship. It is like getting a trophy in sports as a kid for participating. In 2008 when we finished 10-2 we did not receive an at large bid. I heard that the reason why Maine was chosen before us was because that the head of the NCAA is an atheist and said that as long as they are the head of the NCAA Liberty will never be selected as an at large into the playoffs in any sport regardless of a committee or not.

We can claim AC-Champion status....again. I'm pretty sure the head of the NCAA is called lots of things but it doesn't really matter one way or other what he believed because there is more than 1 person involved.

But for all intents and purposes it IS second place sine we won't go to the playoffs and lost to the other co Champ.

Places and auto bids are different discussions. Would I rather have a playoff bid than a share of the title? Obviously. But would I be very pleased to finish the season strong and share yet another championship? Under the circumstances, sure. I guess I have had time to digest the disappointment and I would like to end things on a positive note. It certainly is awful that our fate came down to a kick in double-overtime. But that is where we stand today.

Even if claiming a "share" of the BS title contributes to a failing culture across the board in athletics? Why do people expect so little out of our athletics that they have to create these awards so that we can appreciate mediocrity?

I expect greatness. I came to Liberty because of the mindset that Christians should expect greatness, although, I understand that this principle is mainly to be applied to faith, why not apply to everything we do? My grandmother used to say, "It's a sin to do less than your best." I'm not advocating Liberty take a quote from my grandmother and make it the new slogan or whatever. But we seriously need to be changing the expectations of our athletics.

In my mind, bad is bad, average is average, good is good and great is great. But Liberty tends to believe that average is great when it comes to our sports teams. Why? I hate it.

What on earth did we gain from playing Brevard on Saturday? 7k fans show up? We let one of the worst college football teams in the country (all divisions combined) rack up 21 on us? We struggled early on to put away Brevard, BREVARD. We've struggled all year and you people still can't see the apathy in the football program.

Playoffs shouldn't be a dream, it should be an expectation. Championships should be a dream, and that dream should be attainable.

Oh snap  I do understand why we had to play Brevard. We really didn't have a choice, but the rest of it is pretty spot on

Are you serious? Do you have a source for this? Sounds ridiculous, but maybe you aren't joking around. I HIGHLY doubt any of this is true.
