The new roster is out. Big name missing is nick grant. Mauldin and martin are not listed as well. Everyone else seems to be back. Lots of freshman on the roster as well besides our signees, walkons i suppose. Grant is a tough loss anyone know what happened?

It may be just sitting out the fall season...I'm sure the scribe could find that out if the reason is that big a deal

Huh...my guess is its either he didnt make it academically for 2013-14 or he didn't factor in the plans for 2014 and so he went where he could improve his draft stock. We have 11 RHP on the roster for the fall including Lambert, plus Fulghum comes back (and he absolutely shoved it in the postseason), Marsh comes back (hopefully he stays healthy this year), Lyons comes back, Parks comes back after hurling a perfecto this summer...while it is a bummer, its not like the cupboard is bare as far as pitching goes

Agreed but he was the highest rated pitcher weve had in somw time. That doesnt always mean everything but he did have a live arm. I think it was probably a little of the bj jenkins type deal when he left. Looks like bean, roberts, morhardt and seiz are all back, and graeur. I really think all those guys contribute early. I heard multiple parents say seiz was the best stick we had last year but he had to sit out due to transfer. Also heard morhardt has great pop but a long swing. He could really develop into something

Saw my first scrimmage this weekend and there is a lot of new talent. It is going to be very competitive to get playing time this year, I think there is going to be a lot of new faces on the field in Jacksonville. Lambert looked really good, and Herndon had a strong outing. J Lyons, Parks and McKelvey all looked good as did a bunch of freshman pitchers. Paxton and Austin Bream were really raking, Britt made some great plays in the field, but every position is going to be competitive.
