Someone usually starts this topic; above is Cider's post from last year. As for me, I will be going to Blacksburg to spend the weekend with my daughter and her husband - going with them to the VT game on Saturday.

Mrs. No and I are pregnant with our first. I've learned in recent months about a small tradition called the Reveal Party, whereby family and friends are invited over to experience the unveiling of the baby's gender.

On Saturday, we will were our own chapter of this tradition. The child is the frat grandchild on both sides, and both sides of the family will be present as the gender is revealed. Format: cutting into a cake made with either blue or pink inner icing.

Intentionally planned on an off weekend. I love my wife!

I'll be with my wife celebrating the wedding of another friend of mine (its nice to go to weddings where Im not responsible for the music). The groom proposed the Saturday before I proposed to my wife

Also JK, congratulations on your wife being pregnant! As any of the other posters who are parents can attest, its quite a process the whole way through, and holding that first child in your arms is an experience that can't be topped by any championship in my view.

I have a feeling your Saturday is going to be better than your Sunday. The "R-words" will not escape with their dignity, much less a "W".

What time? Maybe I will answer this thread by watching LU kick some butt in Quiz Bowl.

VCU says 10:00, but these tournaments historically start late. We're bringing a varsity, JV, and novice team, and we'll be playing in Harris Hall against the big boys--UVA, UNC, Princeton, W&M, and Maryland.

Jim, the Lynchburg Classic is at City Stadium, and my wife and I will be there as well, though we won't be arriving for the 12:45 start. Being LU band alum, we enjoy marching bands, but 8 hours is a bit long :) For us, Railroad Festival in Appomattox in the morning and early afternoon, right around the corner from our house, and then to the Classic in time, probably, to catch LCA and the remainder of the performances, concluding with the Spirit of the Mountain around 8:45.

The garlic festival is great people watching ... you get all of these dudes who spent most of their time pounding Bud Light way out of their element drinking wine, and they have no idea how to handle the buzz.

Agreed, I go mostly for the people watching aspect. There was a guy who was so zonked that he asked for a pitcher of PBR at the tasting table :doh I also love how people walk around with whole bottles of wine all to themselves!

It should be a great day

I know one thing. Not a lot of making out! :nono :denied

I will be hitting the Appomattox Train Festival. Where if you listen closely you will hear some one say 'If only Bobby Lee could have made this train on time....'
