But it hurts to get so close and choke once again. We should have had 3 more interceptions for touchdowns, but the reason they are defensive backs is because they can't catch.

Woodrum is not a take charge confident player like the QB's we have played this year either. He is horrible at throwing the long pass. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone to push him either.
Disagree with the first part. We had a very good defensive strategy against this type of offense. Let them rack up the yards between the 20's and buckle in the red zone. They couldn't run it in. I thought it was a great D game plan

Now on offense, I still like Woodrum. But he doesn't call the plays. And since we have a bye week.......
Do you really think it was our defensive strategy to let them rack up yards between the 20's and then not break? Com on my friend, the only reason we played good inside the red zone is because Hieny ran out of room to pass, it was harder for their receivers to get open by 10 yards.
This. What I saw was that their receivers were great at getting open when they had room on the field but we dominated the short game. They were scary when they had room. I wish our offense had that kind of talent.

He got his kicks blocked in the Richmond game pretty much due to the weather. He hasn't had that problem in dry weather. Even the pros only make about 50% of their kicks beyond the 50. We have a lot bigger problems than Lunsford.

Whoever called a passing play on 3rd and 5 with only a couple minutes on the clock needs to be called into question. ODU scores with 25 seconds left. Those seconds wouldn't have been there if we ran the stinking ball. Is swear I feel like a Cubs fan. This one hurts more than allot of the others.
The. Had another time out. We get the first down it seals the game. Playing this hypothetical game is pointless and idiotic. If our special teams doesn't give up that td, if we don't drop a td in the endzone, if we pick off the pass before the Odu touchdown...it starts to be an idiotic exercise.
But those are things we can't necessarily control. We CAN control play calls. We can't always control how they are executed
I didn't realize we could control any of those things.

His unit (special teams) left six points on the board and gave up a touchdown. After Wimbo it's on Stahm. How do we only score 17 points against ODU's defense? They played well, but 17? C'mon. It's time we get a real offense.
You can't put this on Special Teams coaches. They call the plays but they don't execute.

The second missed field goal was on him. We should've punted and pinned them in there. With Bowden, that was a no brainer.

Yeah, but I can understand why someone wants to hold off on an investment until they can feel more sure about success.
Agreed, with the budget and facilities we have there is no excuse for being 3-3 right now and no playoff appearances. Absolutely none.

We don't lose those games like we lose FBS games.

The dude belted a FG that would have been good from 70 before half. I have no problem with that call

Yesterday, if you had told me we'd lose 21-17, I'd have nodded and said "Sounds like the defense had a great game if we held ODU to 21 points." Today, I'm sick to my stomach. You have to be able to hold a ten point lead with four minutes to go. Your world class cornerbacks have to be able to hang on to balls that hit their hands.

Liberty gave this game away. Nice Homecoming gift to ODU -- maybe they'll push the C-USA to invite us so they know they've got a win their first season....

No one ever questioned his leg. The question is his accuracy.

Don't worry someone will tell me they wouldn't miss it if I did so....
I'll just stick with what I do now.
If you want to be #FBSReady and charge #FBSready prices then you better give the people an #FBSready product on and off the field/court
Unless you play the ministry card :D

You said it Flamehunter. Most poters on here remind me of children after a loss. It's always like this. I was as disappointed as anyone, but good grief!

yeah, that's loser talk. I expected this team to lose today because I thought ODU was better. Doesn't mean I would ever be ok with it no matter how it happened.

Boom. That's the key to it. I would've been okay losing by 21 (which was expected) more than I am us choking yet another game away.
