I agree as well but I think the only way we get anyone meaningful coming here is if we work something out like we have with Richmond where the football game is tied with other sports

LUconn wrote:This is so stupid. CSU is taking out app st and we're wasting our time with these guys in which we can literally score at will.App State won´t play us. They´d rather lose to CSU and NC A&T.
BJWilliams wrote:Ive said this before and it bears repeating I think. The reason teams wont play us, especially in Lynchburg is threefold:Does this argument hold true with teams like W&M, Western Carolina, Towson, Deleware?
1) The airport (most of your teams west of say Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Alabama and Mississippi are going to have to fly in)
and the more likely two reasons
2) Jerry Falwell (Most schools still have coaches and/or administrators who still have less than happy sentiments about the man even though he has been dead for 6+ years)
3) It isnt worth it to them. Liberty isnt the "easy win" that it was in the Karcher years, but at the same time, it still would not be considered a "good win" that it would be with other schools but it would always be a "bad loss" because of the act that voters and college football observers would see it as (insert top level FCS school here) LOSING the game, as opposed to Liberty winning the game
Jon did raise a good point in that we may just have to swallow it and go with a balanced schedule in 12 game years (6 home 6 away) in order to get a series with a team like a Central Arkansas, Wofford, Youngstown State, etc. We get Montana here in I think 2015 but that more proves the exception and not the rule.
