Great article in the USA Today:
Jerry Falwell's legacy: A thriving Liberty University

'Robust' online programs helping fuel growth in revenue
LYNCHBURG VA. – A crimson-colored "LU," emblazoned in 11-foot letters on a forested mountainside against a backdrop of white limestone, tells students and their families they have arrived at Liberty University. The cacophony of construction across the 7,000-acre campus it overlooks suggests that the once-struggling Christian college has not only arrived but also plans to stick around...

The copper dome on top of the medical building has been done for a few days and it looks sweet. Really shiny. Like a giant brand new penny.

The building in Liberty Villridge, I can't remember what it's supposed to be, is ENORMOUS. I've been watching it since they started hauling in the dirt to raise and level the area and it just seems like when they poured the foundation it was a normal size and then every week or so the footprint grew. Isn't it like an assisted living training facility for med students or something? It must have hundreds of rooms in it.

Construction workers are busy on both sides of the railroad tracks adjoining the Liberty University campus, where a pair of tunnels soon will provide a new entrance from Wards Road.

Two concrete boxes that will serve as the 130-foot-long tunnels are being built on the LU side of the tracks.

Yeah, it was sort of bush league. But we are used to it. And it is actually the editors who write the headlines and the noth the author of the story. I'm sure the editor thought he or she is a riot.

I thought it was clever and nothing to take offense at. Geez, jet lag must be getting to you.

Judging by what I just looked at, the "Old Baseball Stadium Demolition" is already underway, and the "Parking Garage / Classroom" area is still looking like a regular parking lot.

My question was really about the projects themselves. At one point, there were plans announced for a parking garage to be built at the worthy outfield. Then, we had an article which seemed to indicate that softball might go there again… Have things changed around again?

Is any love going to be shown to the ice rink? With the expansion of the LaHaye Student Union, perhaps the rink could use a spruce up like better seating. The rink is looking a little old compared to all of the other new facilities and upgrades. I wonder if anything could be done or if a brand new facility would need to be built to allow more and better seating?

On another note....any inklings of stadium expansion after this season wraps up in about three weeks?

We will have to wait for him to write the 47th book in the Left Behind series. Or if he is so opposed to the new movie just give us any royalties from it so it won't sully his hands. :D
