The last time I was at a game, there were a bunch of students that completely covered themselves in glitter paint. It was awesome. They were loud and crazy and excited and invaded the Baptist side. My kids loved it! and so did I! My kids came dressed in head to toe in their LU gear and painted their faces and even spray dyed their hair. They were into the Liberty game because it's such a fun place to be. We were loud. We need more of that. That was last fall sometime.

I hate the streamers. I wish they get rid of them. I nearly got one stuck around my neck when two kids were grabbing for them. I always sit on the opposite side because of it.

I get it, kids are kids. It's still irritating though.

I love the streamers! I love the streamer! I love the streamers. It's just one more thing that makes LU gameday fun! You know we really do have some good traditions going. There really is no need to manufacture them. They just kind of appear. The streamers, the glitter people, the band marching down the road, Journey Song... those are all really good thing, well maybe not the Journey song. I do like the idea of a bell. And it would be good to finally settle on a really great team entrance. i.e. intro music, video, band, etc.

EXACTLY!!!! Let's complain on the lack of atmosphere and then when some enthusiastic kids come up with a solution, let's complain about it. Some people need to stay inside instead of the front porch .

I had several streamers land right on my head and I still love it. It was great and the kids loved it too!

Just curious what people thought about the atmosphere at tonight's game, and the whole day of tailgating? I thought the student side looked about as full as I can remember it being in the least 3 years, at least when the game began.

Stadium atmosphere this past Saturday was amazing! I haven't missed a home game since '06 but this was my first time tailgating - SOOO much fun! (Gary #1 Fan tailgated with us. Hysterical, but that's a "whole nother" story)

A couple sat next to me, first time they've been to a Liberty game. By the end of the game he said it was the MOST fun he has EVER had at a football game (they've been to lots of VT and 'Skins games) He laughed hysterically at the "move those chains" chant and was amazed at the gatling gun shooting t-shirts in the 4th quarter, he also was impressed with the Glitter Kids and the entire student section in general. His son is a freshman in the marching band so of course he loved the band (he told me that the band played Be Thou My Vision before the game? I didn't know this, he had tears in his eyes just talking about it)

I agreed with him that our games are good clean fun that you can take your kids to. Don't have to worry about someone throwing beer on you, vomiting on you or a redneck 6 yr old flipping you off (all these happened to me at the WVA game) or someone cussing you out or threatening you (every Coastal game I've been to)

I think the students have gotten the message about "being early, being loud and wearing red". (Maybe we can stop giving out RED shirts that say WEAR RED on them?) I can't wait for this Saturday's game, GO FLAMES!

I love the Journey song. I just wish they played it at a time when they could actually get further along in the song.

I mentioned this earlier in my game summary. If you are going to be a big time blogger you need to cite your sources I think between the 3rd and 4th would be perfect. That way it gets the students fired up and if we are way up its a nice tongue in cheek dig at our opponent.

Other than that I have no complaints except that finally students can enter from the North side, after I already graduated

It's a little hard to hear sometimes in the press box, but when I watched the game replay Sunday morning on ESPN3, it sounded really, really loud.

Do you realize that the Chancellor and his group is probably the largest source of streamers coming down from above? I have on more than one occasion looked up to see JLFJR himself flinging tissue. (Have fun with that PH)

Looks pretty full now. Watching on livestream--works very well with HQ picture/sound. Need to figure out how to route from computer to my TV in different room. I'm too old for that. I'll be out for 10 days in October so I can see Coastal game in person.
