This Week in FF.com A-League
Well even with all the talk of dibs and questionable trades and league contraction, the 2013 NFL season kicked off last Thursday and with it the 2013 A-League. Here are this week's results:
Liberty Flames 126.28
Ed Hindson's Toupee 101.02
After getting down by as many as 30 points on Sunday, a solid performance from Josh Brown and a pair of bigtime performances from DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy springboarded the 2012 league runner-up to a come from behind victory over the league newcomer. NG33 did get outstanding performances from Tom Brady (16.12 points) Mike Williams (11.20 points), Demarco Murray ( 12.50 points) and Anquan Boldin (26.80 points) in the defeat.
Johnny U 84.26
MicahK's Team 116.60
RubberMallet got a huge boost on Sunday night from the Eli Manning-Victor Cruz combo, with the two combining for over 60 fantasy points on the way to the victory. Steven Jackson and Jamaal Charles more than made up for the uncharacteristic lack of "beast mode" from Marshawn Lynch (5.20 points vs. Carolina) combining for 28.20 fantasy points. 2011 Champion LUminary got big days from Matt Ryan (20.36 points), Ryan's favorite target Julio Jones (11.36 points), Owen Daniels (18.70 points) and the Miami Dolphins defense (16 points) in a losing effort
Better Call Saul 78.78
Sly's Flying Foxes 125.38
After an opening night shootout between the opposing QBs (46.28 for Peyton Manning, 20.48 for Joe Flacco), Sly had the better weekend and flew all the way to the third highest point total in the league for the week. Buoyed by a bigtime advantage at the WR position, Sly kept on the gas and easily won as Rueful got underachieving performances from Calvin Johnson (3.70 points) and Kenbrell Thompkins (4.20 points) plus a shutout from Zach Sudfeld at the TE position.
Gill's Gophers 115.22
CHampion LUConn 114.28
In the tightest matchup of the week, TDDance234 got a bigtime performance from Michael Vick to knock off defending champ LUConn. Vick's 25.52 points combined with Pierre Garcon only coming up with 6.40 on Monday Night Football helped overcome a huge week that saw LUConn get double digit points from 7 of 9 positions on the board including 21.48 points from Matthew Stafford, a 5,000 yard passer a year ago.
My Vick In A Box 92.20
FBS Or Bust 144.42
In a rematch of teams from the 2012 B-League, Class of 09 got 20+ point performances form 4 players, led by Aaron Rodgers (25.62 points) and "All Day" Adrian Peterson (29.10 points despite only 93 rushing yards) to post the highest score of the week in the league.
