We conclude our look at the 2013 Flames with a look at the triggermen for the offense:

Here is how it looked coming out of the spring:

Players Incoming
Stephon Masha 6-1 195 Lbs Austell, GA (South Cobb HS)
Bo Swanson 6-6 211 Lbs Lynchburg, VA (Liberty Christian Academy)

Campbell transfer Cory Benedetto left the program following spring practice, leaving Liberty with 3 QBs battling behind Josh Woodrum, who became the full time starter with the Montana game last season. Shashaty redshirted after joining as a preferred walk-on last season and came into training camp as the #2 QB, but Masha, the highest profile of the signees in Turner Gill's second recruiting class, impressed fan and coach alike and leaves Gill with a critical decision to make at the backup position. Masha has ability similar to that of former QB Mike Brown (who is very similar in stature). Masha also gives Liberty a dual threat capability, which he showed off in the two scrimmages in camp. Shashaty was a bit "shashaky" in the first scrimmage, opening the door for the true freshman. Personally, Id like to see him sit out a year and develop, but it also would not surprise me to see him come right in and be the #2 and give the Flames two runners, which would minimize the potential falloff if Woodrum should get injured.
Are we back?

Nice! Here is to hoping we can live bot free.
