I like the new helmets much more than the old helmets. I like the "LU," the "LU w/Eagle Flame," and the "Eagle Flame" designs. I wouldn't mind seeing what the flame would look like in red foil metallic kind of like the Oregon helmet. I also would like to have three helmets... white, red, and blue... that would match three uniform styles... white, red, and blue. Personally I've been a fan of the one color uniforms, all white, all red, all blue. Helmets you can mix and match with uniforms. However, I really like the all white road look. It is crisp, clean, sleak, and professional looking.

What would a helmet look like that had flames streaking from the front to the back? There was an arena football team, the Louisviile Fire, that did that. It looked pretty good. I have wanted to see what a Liberty helmet with streaking flames would look like.

Sort of like a Michigan helmet ? Or an Oregon helmet? I'm far from a uni nazi but it sounds like Jake from State Farm....hideous. Also, never been a fan of a one color look. We have too many options of color schemes. I will say that at least our blues are accented enough that its pretty cool. But all whit has never been a favorite. Other then Penn St I can think of only one organization who goes with that look...

That might not be a bad idea for a "Nike Pro Combat" sort of look as an alternate actually (some probably will disagree as Sly noted)

Id go with red on blue/white on blue or blue on red/white on red for uniform combos

Just stay away from the Black/Gray whatever those ugly ones were.

I noted this over on AGS but black should not be worn by a school as an alternate unless its a tertiary color, and even then Id only wear it one or two games a season.

Totally agree! No black for LU. It's not even one of the school colors. Our form of black is navy blue. Schools should stick with the official schools colors. But even that changes at some places. I know at IU they have switched back and forth between red and crimson. I know there are other schools that have monkied around with the "shade" of thier colors.

And a side note... yes I was thinking kind of like the Michigan helmet. Flames starting at the face and training to the back.

I'll still be cheering for them regardless. I know now days uniforms are important to the kids and if it makes them happy and feel strong than I'll be happy with it too. it helps with recruiting as well.

Or we can stop putting effort into what helmets we need to wear and spend time figuring out how to make the playoffs. I'm fine with the same uniform and just wearing white at home and red/blue away. We aren't Oregon and we are wasting time/effort picking helmets???

Chrome is the new 'thing' this year. I prefer the matte look for ours. I'm just worried we'd end up looking like IU's helmet

I want a Navy matte finish. the ones we are using at my current employer are these. but I think flat navy would look good. Just a pain to clean.
