Liberty University is moving more than 400,000 cubic yards of dirt on Candler’s Mountain as it prepares to construct an Olympic Sports Center.
The sports center, announced by the college this past spring, will provide students with an Olympic-size 50-meter pool and diving well and an indoor track.
It also is expected to house the schools wrestling and gymnastics teams. Although the facility will not be ready for more than a year, officials said work on the land had to begin now because spring and summer are the best seasons to conduct grading work.
Based on the story, and some basic cross referencing of my calendar, it sounds like this wont be ready until 2015 at the earliest depending on when they break ground and how the grading goes
