This past December, the L.C. Bird Skyhawks won the Virginia Group AAA, Division 6 State Championship with a 14-10 win over the state perennial powerhouse Ocean Lakes Dolphins.
Some details on Terrance from the article ...
Junior Terrance Ervin (QB, 6-3, 198) had a breakout season with 100 completions of 180 attempts for over 1,800 yards. A quarter of his completions were for touchdowns (26) and only four interceptions all season, including the playoffs. According to Coach David Bedwell, “Terrance had a record breaking year last year and is in a good position to have an even better one this year” which bodes well for the Skyhawks as they look to defend their state title.

Terrance had a great showing in this month’s Central Region Combine, hosted by Elkin Sports Performance, throwing with accuracy both the long and underneath routes. He hold three scholarship offers from major college programs: Liberty University, Norfolk State University, and his latest from University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

First thing I noticed watching his video, is that he has a very good play fake. In this age of speed offenses and read options, having a QB with that extra bit of deception can be helpful. At his size, he looks like he could take some pretty good licks. The thing that concerned me though is that he tends to float all of his passes, and that is something that is going to have to be worked on with much faster defensive backs at the collegiate level.

Here is my story from Wednesday's N&A on Terrance Ervin, in case anyone missed it:

Certainly confident as well...when he comes in we will have an established two year starter (Woodrum-redshirt junior), plus an experienced backup (Shashaty-redshirt sophomore or junior I cant remember which) and a very talented sophomore or redshirt freshman at third string (Masha), so he will have a chance to back his words up come next fall

I'm with TDD...I really think that the fact that he pretty much was going to be the 4th man on the totem pole had more of an effect. He would have to pass shashaty, and masha and even Swanson to have a chance to play and it sounds like he wants to play immediately or have the chance to. I think FBS played some role but not as much as one might think. btw if MM used the rules at Liberty in his pitch that is some kind of low

definitely hate not getting him, but I didn't think he was overly impressive.. his receivers seem dominate, a lot of his stats come from him chucking it up (which his deep ball was really good) and his receivers already have like 5 yards of separation. Didn't have to throw a lot of the routes he would have to in college.

Still hurts, looks like a guy that has the tools to develop.

Doesn't bother me that much. He looks like a nice athlete but i like Masha more and think he's a better fit for what we do with a better arm. Bottom line is whoever we get this year will be competing for time with Masha down the road and i don't think this kid would have beaten Masha out 2 years from now when Josh is done. Heck, I think if Josh doesn't keep progressing Masha will push him this year or next anyway. You hate to lose quality athletes and he was one, but if he has to play QB i couldn't envision him beating Masha out from what i've seen.

Meh... I'd guess he is simply rethinking committing so early, and wanted to open things back up to see what offers he gets, especially with his team having a great season. If I were him I would want to go somewhere I had a good shot at playing early, too.

I don't blame him for wanting to see what offers he could get with his team playing well, and wanting to play early and all, but I wish he wouldn't commit in the first place. If he isn't sure about Liberty, and would be open to other offers, he just shouldn't commit so early....

If that earlier post was too vague

Yes, Mr. Birdsong looked very good yesterday. So did JMU overall, looks like a very talented, balanced team with a pretty sparse crowd at the game.
