Costa Rica's bus was late getting to the stadium so the CRC/Mexico match started late. USA vs Panama coverage will start on ESPN2 and switch over to the main channel once the first match is over.

Love how they had to call the riot police in just to take a corner kick. I'm absolutely sick of Mexico fans getting away with their antics every time. It should be an automatic 3-0 forfeit.

It's not the first time they've done it to Costa Rica.

Mexico hasn't scored a home goal so far in the hex. That's just astonishing. If not for the Confederations Cup starting next week, I'd bet on El Chepo losing his job tonight.

Altidore is really rounding into form and the supporting players are doing a much better job of getting forward for the US team. 1-0 and could easily be 2 or 3. A win tonight and any kind of result against Honduras almost assures a WC bid.

Cameron adds to his already excellent play tonight with a fantastic pass to Eddie Johnson, who made a great run, and finished for the 2-0 lead.

can we just be happy with a win and leave it at that? all the qualifying (no pun intended) ("oh its just Antigua" or "it wasn't Germany's A squad" or "I know this is Panama...") really isn't needed. be critical of the losses yes, but try to be happy that we get wins and are one step closer to qualifying automatically for the WC.

Well it's not like Panama and Brazil battle it out every 4 years for the Cup. His post sounded like he was happy with the win but keeping it in perspective with the quality of opponent. Now if WE look that good against Brazil.... :D

The boys looked really good at times tonight. Then at times they looked outright comical in front of the goal. Eddie's composure and control for his goal was fantastic. Really good result for a team that still not at full strength.... (even though it was just Panama).

Not sure that I quite agree. Honduras has given us plenty of trouble over the years. Towards the end, yes, it probably should have been 2-0, but Howard had to make a couple of great saves down the stretch.

Quite the warmup for the Gold Cup. If Donovan is right mentally, and Holden is healthy, the US roster gets a major bump over the coming months and could be much more dangerous than most think going into the World Cup.

It was just a friendly but I agree wholeheartedly that the return of Landon & Stu to form was more much more important than the 6-nil result.

Donovan will start unless he's injured, it's really that simple. He's our best winger by a large margin.

Holden should start as well if he's healthy as he's our best distributor out of the midfield.
