thoughts??

Its been the big talk here in Tampa and I think its comical that the same people who eat burgers are upset at eating lion meat.

I doubt I will ever eat it considering they are 35 bucks, but I don't get the big deal. I was curious what you all thought about it.

These Lions were raised to be eaten

And neither are deer, ducks, or any other animal we hunt.

Just sayin

Ok. I didn't read the article. Lion doesn't sound tasty, plus they are too gorgeous to eat!

we had a place called Harolds on the Rock and they would have specials that would offer things like this. I've tried lion and bear. to be honest, not a fan of non fish carnivores.

Alpaca meat is very delicious as well. Had some in Peru, but I think it was about $20 dollars for a klondike bar size slice of it. Normally you wouldn't consider alpaca's as animals for eating. Mainly in the United States they're a cheap way to get tax write-offs. Just ask Bon Jovi.

My guess would be that some cultures of the world, lions are acceptable for eating. Westerners may not like it, but if they're starving for food then I see no big deal with it. If there's a will, there's a way. If there's the market for it, transactions will occur.

I´ve always thought that on a global scale the most compelling argument for being a vegeterian (which I am not, although I don´t consume a lot of meat) is the ineffeciency of needing to feed your livestock anywhere from 6 to 15 pounds of plant protien for every pound of meat protien you get when you slaughter. I can imagine that number is probably multiplied several times when you talk about the meat of a carnivore like a lion.

There were multiple sites reporting that they had stopped. See I told you that you can't trust the liberal media! :D

there were reports that they were going to stop, but from what I have heard those were not accurate and there is not a plan to stop

Since I tried the cucumber Pepsi, why not try Lion Tacos. I wonder if they're as good as shark meat.
