Coastal is dropping men's Cross Country and Track & Field after next year in order to comply with Title IX.

I hate Title IX.

They've restored the program, saying that the budget cuts that were previously needed aren't necessary anymore due to higher retention of students for next year. No mention of Title IX here, so was it just a scapegoat before? Is it not an issue anymore?

In the first announcement, both Budget and title 9 issues are mentioned. Possibly they are not in full complience, and thus it was a convenient reason to cite for the cuts, and now that they can afford to keep the programs they feel they can get bye for now re title 9.
