Well obviously my preseason prediction of the Lakers being the best in the league was way off. My prediction of the Magic as contenders for worst in the league is looking nearly spot on. Coming in to the day, they still had a mathematical chance to finish with the worst record. Even if they don't, they finished with a 1-3 record against the worst in the Bobcats.

You took some big risks with your picks!

I feel better about where the Magic are at then I did at this time last year. There is plenty of positives which I see every game. Next year will see some improvement and possibly slipping into the 8th seed. 2014-15 is the season that the Magic end up back in the top 4 of the east if they continue making the smart personnel moves they have post-dwight. I meant look at Nikola Vucevic, he is only in his 2nd year and hasn't reached his full potential and he is already doing more then anybody ever thought possible. Every move has been like that. Tobias Harris, the guy who the Magic got for JJ is simply showing he is a star in the making. Smart personnel moves combined with good drafting and this team will be fine.

I know this isn't a Magic thread or message board so nobody else cares, but I do! haha

Not quite sure I'd say either Vucevic or Harris are stars yet. There's a lot of examples of players out there no where close to star level that put up numbers on bad teams. See Gerald Henderson this year, LaPhonso Ellis when he was in Denver, Rodney Stuckey in Detroit, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim in Vancouver (although he was an all-star, but for only one season) to name four that come directly to mind. But Vucevic and Harris are doing quite well, that is fact. I don't know what lottery pick the Magic will have in the draft, but it might be wise for them to trade it, this year's draft is going to be awful.

neither are stars, thats for sure. I never said they were but they are well on there way and combine them with Mo Harkless and Andrew Nicholoson it is certainly a great young core to build around.

This year's draft will suck, that is true and the Magic will have to wait another year to have decent cap space to make some moves. In fact, this year's free agency pool isn't that great.

I just think the Magic have people in positions that are smart basketball people. The magic haven't had that in a long time. Had they had these people in the front office during Dwight's time here and Stan Van Gundy as coach we possibly could be looking at something totally different right now. Instead the Magic had Otis Smith. Enough said there.

I wasn't attempting to do that. I was attempting a joke which failed I suppose.

I was indeed comparing growth cycles that ran parallel for a period of time of accelerated expansion. Clearly they were at different overall levels of impact. But their explosive growth were attributed to Stern & his protegee Bettman's emphasis on marketing players as opposed to teams.

David Stern long ago jumped the theoretical shark. He was a great asset to the league when he took over and for much of the 90s, but his retirement will be much welcomes.

After tonight's game, with only one game left for each, the Magic are now tied with the Bobcats for worst record in the league. Charlotte hosts Cleveland. Magic go to Miami.

I am hoping for the worst record...at worst we get the best player in a horrible draft. At best, the Magic can package the pick in some sort of trade and get a quality player in return.

Very rarely does the worst team ever get the #1 pick. There is this lottery thing you know.

By the magic have a great history winning the lottery. It's the only thing they can actually win.

And the team with the worst record has an even worse history at winning the lottery. Ping pong balls don't lie or however the NBA does it these days if they aren't fixing it.

And apparently you don't follow the NBA Draft Lottery. The Magic have only won the lottery once since the draft odds were reformulated following the 1993 draft. We don't live in the 1993 era anymore!

Well Marcus Smart provided a shocker and made the not so smart business decision to return to school. Chad Ford said Orlando would have seriously considered him with the #1 pick, so that sucks for Orlando I reckon.

Not really reading into any, you were trying to point out how wrong I was when I was clearly joking around so I just cleared it up. I will spell it out for you next time though. No worries, we're cool!
