You go with your experiences and ill go with mine. But until FB wins a big game or makes some noise in the Playoffs we will never know. (I will know of course but you won't be convinced :D )

I went to the LU baseball game last week over at UNC with my gear on and spoke to some folks who spoke highly of LU and the program, especially the ones that have seen the new stadium

We seem to have broken through some with the ACC crowd. I live on tobacco road and hear a lot of nice things about LU these days. To bad it's an elite conference and we have to brake through with the lower tier. They seem less respective.

Whats up with the Louisiana schools? Maybe they don't want us recruiting in "their Bible belt" ....

I think so too, I had great experiences at the State and Wake football games as well.

Probably because they can't afford to make trips over to Lynchburg. Ironic, isn't it?

Someone posted,
Reporters at Rivals are saying... Liberty is no longer in consideration because of too much push back from Louisiana schools.
That crazy isn't ULL looking at CUSA?
Yes, it's been rumored that ULL is looking at C-USA. However, they know that conference realignment is unpredictable, therefore they want to make sure they get what they want while they're still in the Sun Belt. Also, Benson knows they're sniffing around, but he want to keep them happy so they can stay. Same thing for Ark St. Benson tried and failed with Middle Tenn St and WKU. I guess he's hoping to do something right one of these days.

I guess we'll have to strive to produce football teams that rival Montana or Appy in strength, and stay FCS. We end up spending less money, get larger crowds and beat 50% of the Sunbelt teams we schedule. On the other hand, we could sue for independence and play all away games.

Let's just win some games and make folks take notice and not just in football. BASKETBALL will get you further faster in the perception game. Hard to ask an FCS team to win against FBS with any regularity. We have the rest in place and if you win early and often you will be amazed how politics becomes less important.

How would you guys feel about Liberty playing in either the CAA or the Southern Conference until a FBS invite comes?

I wouldn't mind a move to the Southern conference since they seem to be making a shift towards private schools. The CAA is attractive, but a shell of what it once was. Also, they act like you stole something from them when you decide to leave.

Honestly at this point I'm not sure what a better option would be. The schools that we would be good rivals with are all gone or leaving.

I wouldn't sue the NCAA. I would petition the NCAA for the opportunity to play as a Indy. However, Liberty would need to find a home for its other sports and make contact with FBS school that are willing to do home-and-home series in football.

Make no bones about it, Liberty is getting the cold shoulder because of its politics and its comments made in the past concerning world issues. Also, honestly speaking, other schools are jealous and envious of what Liberty has (money, online education, etc.).

And the fact we don't have a lot of athletic success.

If the SB has truly moved on I would expect to hear a reassuring statement from the Liberty administration to say they are continuing to explore all other options.

Purple.. 2 things,

First. Is that a reason we are being held back? Yes. No explanation needed.

Second. Is that a reason we are being held back? No. See Charlotte.

Your head is truly spinning.
With UNC-C you have a blank slate. With us you have a track record. It is by no means the only reason, but it is a reason. You have to ask yourself, if you are the SBC or any Conference 'Do they bring competitiveness to the table?' The answer is No. But, like Charlotte we show potential in all the upgrades we made. Which is why I'm still not buying 100% the rejection rumor.

I'm not buying that rumor either and here is why. 1 Month Ago...Liberty has zero chance, 3 Weeks ago Liberty is next for membership... 2 weeks ago, JMU is next Liberty has no chance....last week, SBC is mad at JMU for dragging feet, Liberty is next and SBC is visiting campus.....This week, SBC has moved on from Liberty..... Next week, MO State is next. Two weeks from now, Liberty accepts invitation, JMU to CUSA
