Both. Toman's philosophy is that if he gets good enough talent, we will win. He doesn't actually coach the talent once it's here.

He also doesn't think you can win with Christian players because they're soft. That mindset and some of the guys he's brought in is what has led to the locker room issues that are spilling out onto the field.
You have no sense of morals do you. The truth and you are strangers. You have admitted you lied before and you keep it up constantly. You have zero credibility.
He has admitted he was wrong, but Jon has never struck me as the kind of guy who is a liar. Please share your great wisdom with us all.

SJ is most definitely not one to lie, he is one to admit if he is wrong, and he is definitely one to give credible insight.

But ya... he has no morals, proven by his profession

Go to the Georgia thread, 1st post second page. SJ "made personal attacks on Toman many times claiming among other things many times that all of the players hate him. He got called on it and he said he was only using "Hyperbole and overreach". To me using "hyperbole and overreach"to make personal attacks is lying. He has made many personal attacks that it seems only he is aware of.

His opinion is his opinion, and no one can question that but he has stated things as fact that just plain are not true.

I can't believe we're playing lil wayne at games now. I mean i'm no stickler for music but that is ridiculous to me, it's not even a players walk-up song. It's the second time I've heard it in 2 weeks.

Stadium keeps looking better every couple weeks i make it down.

I can't speak of anything Jon talks of because i don't know but i do know you aren't going to make everyone happy when your the coach so I'm not sure how much you can read into certain players bickering about the coach. All i can go off of is results and it's been dissappointing this year. Jon are you saying he's looking for another coaching job again this year, what happened to the supposed 4 year commitment he was making last summer after UMD and MTSU fell through?

Today was the best game we've played in 2 weeks so hopefully we're going to come out of this. Tom. is a big game as we could win the series and the schedule softens a bit the rest of the way. Obviously the 3 game series at Campbell being the biggest challenge. Perritt is a spark plug and that has been the best move of the season so far in my opinion.

The newbies always think that the old guys are gasbags. I think that issues with the coach are part of the problem- after hearing Toman publicly several times, he doesn't strike me as a coach that guys would rally to. In regards to spiritual issues, I have no idea where he stands, but I wont forget hearing him belittle the golf coach after he expressed some emotion while he gave his testimony and told how God had blessed his team. I've listened to Liberty coaches from every sport- he's the only one that left a bad taste in my mouth.

This is a common feeling. I've got a text from a former player saying almost that exact thing.

I cant speak to the second part of the statement, but the first one is very true. It is common knowledge among the players that Toman is an excellent recruiter but terrible coach. Not sure why some cant accept that.

The last thing I will say on this subject and on Superjon is that I have never defended Toman's coaching style or any one"s opinion of it. I just take umbrage at the unfounded "personal"attacks on the man, not on his coaching. And yes, I consider "Hyper bole and Overreach"to be lying, there is the truth or what is not true, it is not a grey area.

I would never in a million years use hyperbole

Here's where we disagree philosophically and I completely understand why it's different. You're not a Liberty guy. You didn't go here and your son has been here less than two years, so the Liberty experience and expectation isn't as important to you as it is us.

At Liberty, we have to look at character and faith. We have to look at how coaches interact with our mission and values. A coach that laughs at two of our two greatest alumni, in his sport, for crying when talking about Liberty at their Hall of Fame induction and says something along the lines of, "I don't get these Liberty people or this place" is one that has no place at Liberty.

Our school is special. It has special values and special beliefs. If you don't align with those values and those beliefs, you have absolutely no place representing Liberty and what it stands for. That's my biggest problem with Toman. The fact that he isn't a good coach can be overlooked to an extent, but his character and faith not lining up with the rest of our school is something that should not and cannot be overlooked.

We lose the game and the series. We are now 3-5 in series this year. The only series that we've won are Penn State, Longwood, and Chuck South.

We've lost series to 13-24 UGA and 17-19 HPU.

We've given up runs in the first inning in 8 of our last 9 games.

In those 9 games, we have scored 1 run on 4 hits in the first. Our opponents have scores 23 runs on 18 hits in the first.

They usually play on a sloping field since there is not enough flat ground for a field! :D

I see 2 areas LU needs to improve on.........and quickly.

1. get out of ist inning without giving up runs.

2. need better hitting, many batting averages are low.
