It's hard to find that guy who can coach and recruit!! If you look historically - it's always that guy who has studied under someone great and is young, energetic and hungry.

Everyone knows I love and support all Liberty sports and our AD... I trust him pretty much in everything he does, and decisions he makes. He'll make them when he needs to, if he deems it appropriate. Maybe there is still hope for Toman, he just needs lots of lighter fluid to save his flicker.

It's time for Barber to pick up the phone and call Team Liberty sponsor Atlas Van Lines. I'm still not against having the moving truck stop at the Vines Center first. 20 games is enough. For as much money as we spend on Football, Men's Basketball and Baseball its really a joke that we can't beat hardly any of the teams in the Big South. We spend almost as much as all of them combined!!!!
For most of my life, all I have heard was "If its Christian, it should be better". The checkbook has been open for the last 4 years and we really have NOTHING to show for it.
Heck any of us in our respected fields would have been fired by now if we were given the resources that have been given.

2 sports, in which we frequently beat opponents in conference. Point is don't say we "can't beat hardly any of the teams in the Big South", cause that's obviously not true. I'm not debating how we should be performing on this or that budget, or how a certain sport or two are underperforming etc.

He was talking specifically about men's basketball and baseball, not the sports that we get points for in the Sasser Cup.

Very dissappointing couple weeks. It looks as though Toman may have lost the team from the outside. This Coastal team is the least talented Coastal team that i have seen in the last 7-8 years and we got dominated. I've been a proponet of Toman but he should be held accountable for this if this keeps up. This year is looking more and more like 2 years ago with Bream and Alex's struggles (though Bream never hit this poorly) and the mid-year slump that finished with a very dissappointing ending.

We are wasting our time arguing over Toman, there is NO CHANCE that JB would consider a change at this point. Next year at this time if we're in this boat again with the new stadium he may consider it.

Toman and this team have been flat out dissappointing in conference play this year. No way around it. I think Toman is intimidated by Gilmore and our team is intimidated by Coastal. That was as embarassing a 3 game series as we've had. It's gut check time.

BIG straight 20 loss to Coastal. At this point, most of it is mental and they just need to start playing like a team. This is not the time to fire a coach but just like the game of baseball, it's time to start warming someone up in the bullpen just in case they are needed.

2009-2010 - 15-16 overall 10-8 in B.S play. Quarterfinal round exit in the BST (No NCAA Tourney)
2010-2011 - 19-13 overall 13-5 in B.S play. Quarterfinal round exit in the BST (No NCAA Tourney)
2011-2012 - 14-18 overall 9-9 in B.S play. Quarterfinal round exit in the BST (No NCAA Tourney)
2012-2013 - 15-21 overall 6-10 in B.S play. Won the B.S tourney
Yes the team caught fire in the last week of the season....but in NO way does this prove "He's proven he's a good coach. He's proven he can coach when it matters the most."

If you enjoy 6-10 seasons in the Big South then you must all think that all kids deserve a ribbon and a medal.

Next sport that is getting it done on the field of play.

Football (I was a huge Rocoo guy btw)

2009 season - 8-3 overall 5-1 in conference play - No Playoffs
2010 season - 8-3 overall 5-1 in conference play (Lost at Coastal) - No Playoffs
2011 season - 7-4 overall 5-1 in conference play - No playoffs
2012 season - 6-5 overall 5-1 in conference play - (Trounced at Coastal) No Playoffs

Let me know if you see the pattern here...

Baseball -

2009 season - 33-21 overall 17-9 in conference play - Made a run in the tourney lost to Winthrop ( No NCAA Tourney)

2010 season - 42-19 overall 19-8 in conference play - Made a run in the tourney Coastal sent us home (No NCAA Tourney)

2011 season - 35-24 overall 18-9 in conference play - Gardner-Webb knocked us out. (No NCAA Tourney)

2012 season - 41-19 overall 14-10 in conference play - Lost to Coastal in the Title Game (I went to the game btw and No NCAA Tourney)

Yes most of these records look nce....but you have to beat Conference opponents to make the NCAA Tourneys and it just isn't happening when it matters the most...

4 years... 3 sports and 1 playoff bid..... Case closed.
