the problem i have with this whole story is the dude bringing it forth has the integrity of a toothpick bridge.

what is being portrayed by the media is a guy who is constantly going off the handle on his players. the few minute montage shows him going ballistic the entire time and EVERY picture of this guy is him screaming fire or looking like he's about to strangle a kitten.

The guy may be a congadouche, certainly. nothing in the video is all that acceptable. But without researching it too much, i have no problem believing we have stripped down footage of YEARS of practices showing only the worst of offenses. Not excusing them as they are unacceptable, but i bet stuff like this happens in one off circumstances accross the country in practices everywhere. Once again, there is no justifiable reason a grown man should act so childish, but I get the sense based off player reaction that this isn't as OUTRAGEOUS and awful as its being made out to be.

I agree that the integrity of the guy who brought it all out is questionable. No doubt.

He did bring it out, though, and what he brought out isn't great. An adult coach shouldn't put his hands on other people that way. That's my main issue with the whole thing. Kicking the players, throwing balls at their heads, etc. That's demeaning and childish stuff that a professional coach has no business doing. I do also think his language was way over the line as well, but it seems like I have higher expectations than most others here when it comes to that.

I think it's possible that both men in this situation have integrity issues without one cancelling out the other.

I was hoping someone would say it so that I don't get slandered in controversial topics like I always do.

Physically pushing a player repeatedly is wrong. But ESPN now has all these gay sportswriters who are employed for the sole purpose of interjecting their personal beliefs on athletes.

I don't really care whether someone's gay or not. I just wish these sportsholes would shut up and stop interjecting social issues into sports.

I don't get why ESPN feels the need to always push social and political agendas into sports. I watch sports to divert myself from everyday life, and everyday news, health problems, etc. that's why it's "deportivo" in Spanish. I don't want to hear about social justice or politics in sports.

Deportivo is the singular form of the word. Deportes is the plural.

One thing people are overlooking is the problem on the Rutgers campus with homophobia. One person who was recently outed on campus committed suicide because of all the harassment he took from fellow Rutgers students. Keeping Rice around would have only said that is is acceptable to threat homosexuals in that manner.

Unfortunately, this will only cause the huddles to grow tighter. Coaches are all kings of their kingdoms, who demand unilateral control and unconditional loyalty from every player and coach in the program. We can all hope that the decisions made by Rutgers over last few days will cause other universities to take such issues more seriously, but it won't.
