I don't think we are getting played near as bad as some believe. First of all, I expect that most university presidents and Benson are too mature to use us, just to get JMU on board. Secondly, if they thought that there was even a slim chance that we would end up in the SBC, why would they want us coming in with less than a positive rapport? It is not like they don't have lots of other options. They really don't have to consider us at all.
Could be 100% wrong, just my opinion.

I get where you are going logic...but they do have an actual national title in their history and also have made appearances in the FCS playoffs multiple other times while we still have not cracked into that...

So, yes, we are ahead of them with how many trainers we have but their football program has long been ahead of ours.

Now their athletic dept as a whole?? That could be another story because all signs point to them not being ready as an athletic department for what a move up would mean for them.

The sun belt boards are reality. There are people who hate our school and everything it stands for. Some people need to have a thicker skin for those kinds of things. and realize that no amount of words on a screen will change anyone's mind. our fans also need to realize that no one on that board can get us into the SBC. So we don't need to constantly try and win their approval and they sure as heck don't need our approval of anything. So please, think before you post. I am not speaking on anyone specifically since i'm sure some have used different names on there, i'm just speaking in general.

Are LU people actually posting on that stupid thing? Please stop. You won't have any effect on realignment (except you could possibly hurt our chances). There are no athletic directors, school presidents or conference officials who are on that board. Just stay off, you're gaining nothing. If you want to change anyone's mind don't say anything else. If/when we receive the invite, send one of them a friendly message, inviting them to tailgate with you before an LU game. I'm finding the best way to change a person's heart, is to stop arguing with them and just serve them. Everyone get off that daggum board.

VAGolf I agree. I think for some on there it has been a call of action against Liberty and they've called their respective AD's or Pres offices and states they would withhold financial support if Liberty joins. I know it sounds crazy, but a few have claimed to do so. Let's not give them any reason to dislike us anymore. I know the intentions are good, but it's doing nothing to help us. I would kindly encourage Liberty posters from no longer posting over there until something is announced one way or another.

You gotta problem with the things I have said on there? With the exception of a few dbags that are looking for a fight, I have gotten tons of complimentary messages from fans at other schools so what's your problem?
... and don't compare me to campaign, if you paid a lick of attention you would know I have done more good than bad. I would say Knucklehead and I have done the best job over there about having some good conversations with them.

Agreed. I am just trying to have normal conversations realizing that over time their opinions may change after playing us for a few years. Right now, it doesn't matter what we say, they just want to argue.

I think we should all stop posting on the Sunbelt board as well unless LU gets the invite (I've made two posts over there before I gave up).

I know it's so frustrating. People blame Liberty for losing to JMU, but you have to remember we're recruiting athletes to the Big South verses the CAA.

If JMU, LU, or ODU we're invited to the ACC, what do you think would happen to the quality of their recruiting? It would go through the roof. But, none of them are going to the ACC.

What's crazy about all this is that the posters on the Sunbelt board don't realize that most JMU fans look down upon the Sunbelt. They call it nicknames like the slumbelt...they can't wait to join it on their way to CUSA.

Yet the Sunbelt posters are salivating about JMU joining.

Liberty would love to join, they would bring more television exposure, and I'll bet more fans to the away games as some LUonline folks would show up...I mean who from JMU is going to travel that far. Plus, LU would be committed for a long time. But we're conservative evangelicals and the vote is up to a bunch of college presidents.



Yet, the biggest obstical for LU is this perceived political perception by not inviting a public, secular school, that somehow they would be turning on their values. I thought these public schools were supposed to value diversity.

Really? I mean I am a JMU hater. They are the school that I loathe the most. They compete for national championships in football. We haven't made the playoffs. Please don't say ridiculous things. We are not ahead of them, in anything. See our article on how badly they have owned us in just about every sport.

Is that right? I could name 5 of our sports right now that are better than James Madison's.
