September actually matters. Miley was awful down the stretch (5.40 ERA with opponents hitting .299/.344/.490 in Sept/Oct) while Harper played his best baseball in September (.330/.400/.643, 7 HR, 14 RBI, 5 SB). Frazier and Miley both folded under the pressure of pennant race baseball while Harper got better. A near 20/20 season from a 19 year old, with a great finish, made it an easy decision.

The Rays can't seem to figure out how to get a final out in an inning. Absolutely frustrating. Grrrrr the Orioles irritate me so much. They do everything right at exactly the right time it seems.

That was a key for the O's last season, for sure. But last night's ending was unsettling. Losing a one-run game (something they didn't do last year) and the bullpen stunk it up (something that was very good last year). I hope it was just a blip on the screen, 160 games left for both of us.
