Wow, a positive article about us is refreshing haha

My niece that graduated last year from the law school at Liberty and passed the bar (says the proud uncle) will be glad to learn in this article that Liberty is planning to open a law school by 2014.

Liberty spent more in football. 8.4 million. compared to JMU 6.6.

...endowment compared to some of the other sunbelt schools and where lu stands in the rankings. alot of the schools aren't ranked national. granted some have programs ranked.


endowment
Arkansas State-- $10 mill
Georgia Southern-- $39 mill
JMU-- $58 Mill
Liberty--54 mill
Troy-- $396 k
ULM--$23 mill

Liberty is middle of better than half the schools in that regard.

Our endowment numbers are irrelevant because of our cash holdings.

+1 We will know probably in an hour or sooner after the invite, that we are in. Too many loose lips. You can choose any time to announce it, but it will most likely be anti-climatic.

We 'knew' we had FBS plans but didn't announce it until Commencement. Plus, the vast majority of people watching/attending Commencement won't even know we were close let alone accepted.

To announce at commencement would be fantastic, but I´m not sure we can delay it that long. To actually be accepted in a FBS conference is very different than formally announcing plans to pursue it, which is something everyone has known since Doc started talking about playing Notre Dame almost 40 years ago. This is going to get out. There is going to be a lot said about it. We will ultimately need to respond. IMHO an early announcement is better.

The dark side Purple Haize would have suggested commencement....2020 or something along those lines but more clever than what I can think of. Then jbock would add in that we should hold out for the SEC. What's happening to the dark side?
