If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

It could mean starting a new program or simply fully funding the ones they have.
That sounds like a sloppy mess. It doesn't sound like they'll have their act together before June 1st. Plus, they just hired the Carr Sports company to analyze the whole athletic program. I think it would be rather odd to join a conference before getting their analysis report back. From what I read, that report will not be back until September.

If we get in, and JMU is too late, I think that would speak volumes about our leadership compared to JMU's. I still think we're being used to make JMU jealous as other posters have suggested.

What this episode tells me is that we're in... it's just how soon. There is still much movement to be done at the top of the ladder so I fully assume that SBC will be adjusting a few more times in the next year or so. If it's public that LU is in the mix on this spot, I'm certain we get the next one. It's a good day as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, it's definitely a reference to us. However, that statement has nothing to do with inviting teams (us).

It's about pressuring JMU

JMU is in a precarious position. They probably don't have any real desire to be in the SBC. They are probably far more interested in CUSA or the MAC (or somehow salvaging the sinking CAA), but the fact that the SB is throwing themselves at them with the understanding that LU is probably getting in if they say no, must make them sick.

Its going to be hard for me to keep my mouth quiet and be Christ like on the SB board if we actually get an invite. Paul, App70, Tom Math?? I would love to meet some of those dudes face to face and see if they would talk the same smack.

Don't. You can't win an argument with morons. And you'll look like one for trying. (Not to personally call you a moron, just friendly advice I've heard before).

A real kind thing would be to invite them to a tailgate party the first time we play them. As much as you may want to rub it in their face, you can catch more bees with honey, than vinegar. I will also be the first to admit that serving vinegar would be much more fun, just not as classy. :).

Reminds me a famous quote attributed to Mark Twain: “Do not argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

according to stoss

Liberty spent more in football. 8.4 million. compared to JMU 6.6.

lets take a look at academics and endowment compared to some of the other sunbelt schools and where lu stands in the rankings. alot of the schools aren't ranked national. granted some have programs ranked.

US news regional

65. Liberty
67. Troy
91. Louisiana-Monroe

Forbes
584. Liberty
590. University of Louisiana at Lafayette
618. Georgia Southern
636. Troy
unranked: arkansas state, ulm

endowment
Arkansas State-- $10 mill
Georgia Southern-- $39 mill
JMU-- $58 Mill
Liberty--54 mill
Troy-- $396 k
ULM--$23 mill

Liberty is middle of better than half the schools in that regard.
