did you actually read what said media outlets have said? Its been ALL JMU then boom out of nowhere McMurphy says something about liberty being a top runner. that is ALL thats been said since then. We are a pawn. we have always been one. They are using adding us as leverage to force JMU to move up. Its quite brilliant on Benson's part actually if you think about it. Benson and the SBC presidents have no desire to add us. but if leaking to the press that we are a "top pick on their list" they are telling JMU to grow some cajones and man up for the move.

JMU got the bulk of the coverage because most thought they were holding out for the MAC, had expressed no interest in the Sun Belt, and then their beat writer said they still don't have any interest in the Sun Belt.

Maybe, if folks took everything in context, we wouldn't get the asinine woe is me nonsense every time something new surfaces and a team becomes the flavor of the week.

The SBC is an entry level FBS league. The MAC not so much and CUSA not much any more. So if I was in the MAC and CUSA I'd like to see how JMU fares in the SBC before I invite them to the party.

Somewhere yesterday I read that the BigEast is inviting Rice soon, and that is supposed to trigger another trickle effect. The article I read stated the reason why Benson hinted at inviting two more schools was because he's expecting to lose another team. I'll see if I can find the article again and post it on here. Wasn't it not long ago that JMU had several obstacles preventing them from moving up? I have several JMU friends and they're saying they won't move up due to Title IX complications. No idea if that's actually the case but surely that would be a difficult obstacle to overcome.

Title IX issues can be solved with the flick of a pen. So that's not an issue. JMU will look long and hard at this and in the end find its better to jump ship then go down with it.

34 million dollar athletic budget, more than our 30...Most likely a lot in salaries. They are well staffed, well funded, and scholarships are in place. Are they fully funded with scholarships like we are...probably not. Would have to add 22 football and find the appropriate numbers for women. It could mean starting a new program or simply fully funding the ones they have.
