Anyone who has been a Liberty fan for more than a minute knows not to get prematurely excited about anything regarding conferences. But this is exactly the scenario that has kept me hopeful the past couple of weeks when most on here had thrown in the FBS towel. I am sitting on pins & needles.

How's this for a scenario: We get invited to the Sun Belt. Our final FCS season we win the Big South and after 30 something years FINALLY earn a playoff spot with the autobid yet we're not allowed to participate because we're moving up the following year. That is irony on the level of Liberty sports.

Sly or one of the charter members here can talk in more detail about it but I think The Firehouse wasnt even launched until 2004 or 2005 so I doubt that there was much chatter to be had back in 2000 or 2001

Last couple of things I read point to both JMU and LU to the Sun Belt. App State, LU and JMU would be fun. If this happens I think we would know in time to announce at the Spring game Apr 13 ????

If we hear news soon, then we're in. The longer it waits, the more likely they're waiting for JMU and not us.

We all can know JFLJR and Barber are the best to handle this situation. We just have to do our best, and I know it's a Jesus Juke but pray that God will show us His will.

Agreed. JLFJR said it would only take Liberty's board 48 hours to make a decision. With this being said, and the fact that WKU is supposed to announce on Monday, my assumption is that we may hear an announcement from us by Wednesday or Thursday.

I suspect that it will take less than 4.8 seconds to make the decision. Obviously, the invite is the only hurdle. Hopefully it will be forthcoming soon. I am trying not to let myself get too excited though. I agree it would be nice to go in with JMU, lots of regional rivalries. What am I going to do with my Beat Coastal T-shirts? LOL!!!!!
