If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

We are already in a D1 conference...so we should just stop now, right?

I think one of JMU big wins was at VT a couple of years ago. What has been our big win during the same time or any time previous? Could be the reason a conference wants JMU. Winning the BS conference will get you a bus ride maybe to downtown Lynchburg.

This is one of the main reasons why making the FCS playoffs and even hosting some home games with FCS big boys would have been tremendous for Liberty. Unfortunately, we have not had the luxury of doing both.

Think of it this way... The presidents of the schools in the FCS playoffs develop friendships with other school presidents and their schools develop rivalries through having to see each other's face from time-to-time. Because of this, they have no choice but to respect one another. Experiences like that help with scheduling home-and-home series outside of the playoffs and staying in contact with one another to share ideas, etc.

It seems to me like we have to struggle to schedule a home-and-home series with some FCS big boys or rival peers. Sure, Liberty have scheduled some CAA teams (JMU, W&M, Richmond) for such a thing in the past, but how many of those schools wouldn't mind doing it on a regular basis? Not many. This is one reason why making the playoffs on a regular basis helps in more ways than just getting the
school more exposure.

Do You want the truth! or a sugar coated answer?? Truth is everyone of these schools has tailgating parking lots/areas that allow Mass Beverage consumption before games. Almost every person I know that's come to LU when their Alma Mata (JMU,VMI, Costal) comes to play has said how bad it sucks that we have no where available for "proper" tailgating. The Wingate was an option in the past but now even that's owned by Liberty. People like to drink before games, no one wants to go to a location that makes it impossible to do that(the last time JMU came my wife had to go to that stupid Ham's restraunt because it was the closest area JMU events dept. Could find). So the real truth is we don't really need to win FBS Big boy games or build 30K seat stadiums. We need to make it easier for other people to live their lives the way they chose to when they come to visit. Yes, even if its not in the Liberty way Manual.

Yes that is the reason liberty can't schedule decent teams is because the schools AD's are all alcoholics.

This thread gets more ridiculous by the hour

Ironically , most people that tailgate for the first time at LU find it surprisingly enjoyable. And it's pretty easy to smuggle alcohol in to your tailgate. Ask SMOOTH.

That's just goofy. Compromise what we believe in, and for what purpose? I've tailgated for years, at Liberty and West Virginia games and not once needed alcohol to have a great time.

Admittedly I'm of the latter a minority, but still if you have great friends and good burgers, the rest is irrelevant.

Posty, your sarcasm is duly noted, but that is still one of the funniest comments that I've read on this board in quite some time.

I don't ever go there and do not know anything about what you are talking about specifically, but I totally agree. It is a waste of time, you will not change their minds and everything you say will be twisted and tweaked just to get a rise out of you. Casting your pearl...............comes to mind.

Because it went bust, they may have been on to something.

Haize...I was thinking the other day...what an eternal conundrum we are in... I personally don't agree with Obama's policies, however it has also indirectly meant some incredible growth for 'ol LU. It is hard for me to rail on the man too much as every year we do take in a sum of federal student loan dollars that I won't repeat here. If my beloved Ron Paul truly had his way, federal student loans would not exist, and the private sector would force colleges to curb spending and budgets BIG TIME.

Is LUO a bubble...not as long as the Democrats are in power and the dollar stays afloat, as federal loan dollars will continue pouring out from Washington.

If a true conservative with the courage to cut spending ever gets elected..watch out. Until then, as long as we can maintain higher than average LUO graduation rates and can keep the Feds off our backs....let the good times roll.

Ok, now that the WKU move is about to happen we will really know where we stand once the replacement is chosen. I know it does not look very good right now, but I still am holding out hope. If JMU is really not interested, then we really should be the best pick. At least we will know.
