I'm sure. the guy knows how to work angles- he grew up watching the best.

and JB has been quiet lately too: looks like he is in Charlotte for meetings but you can bet he's burning up his I-phone as well

the question is, does any of it matter? Minds may well be made up.

If JMU gets invited and we don't, the geographic footprint argument goes out the window. We know our stance as a university is the reason that we have not received an invite yet. It will come. Maybe this year or maybe in the future. Most of us want it to happen now, but we can't control that. I'm confident in our administration that they will continue to take the right steps. I'm enjoying the process even with the disappointments.

We were jumped again! Idaho and New Mexico State to Sun Belt for football only in 2014.

Those are the other two invites that were accepted.

We haven't been jumped yet. Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, Idaho and New Mexico State were all assumed beforehand. The remaining two slots are to replace Western Kentucky when they move, and some undetermined move which they're apparently anticipating.

The topic of Conference realignment has all of us at wit's end, but there is absolutely nothing else we could possibly do to make ourself look more attractive at this point.

A JMU rivalry would pack Williams stadium every other year, and it would be pretty sweet to have the Mountaineers of Boone travel up to Lynchburg. I salivate at how the east division of the SBC would look with us in it.

The waiting game sucks though!

I'm actually in a great mood. It's just pointless to keep throwing around unfounded and hopeful rumors with the only basis being other posters on other message boards.

Our political alliances, positions, and statements through the years are the #1 thing keeping us from getting an invite. We have to keep our mouths shut from saying stupid and insensitive things for a few years and get that crap behind us. By no means should we leave our Christian beliefs or anything of that nature, but we need to focus on the Christianity and not the Republicanism.

Does this board not have one insider from the athletic dept. I've never seen a board with so much interest with so little substance. Typically it's almost impossible to keep leaks from happening. Either Jr. and Barber have decided to not share ANY info OR there's nothing going on and nothing to leak. We've got to make some inroads into the AD's office.

LU athletics has been very strict in the past for their employees posting on this board, so I'm guessing their job/career is more important than leaking an inside source.

Talk about grasping at straws. We're trying to find every possible hole and fit ourselves in it.

The truth is no one wants us. It hurts to hear that people don't think Liberty is the world's most exciting university, but they don't.

Thats what I have been afraid of all along. Sucks but seems to be true.
