I was disgusted with this team. Sure the tourney would end as disappointingly as the regular season never been so glad to be wrong. These guys believed when no one else did. There won't be a bigger Cinderella story in the NCAA tourney.

To me it was obvious that this team had talent. I have never wavered from that. Tomasz Gielo is special and will be really good the next 2 seasons, JC is way better than anyone ever gives him credit for and continues to work to get better; Our bigs bring a ton of energy to the court each game. I just saw all the effort and the talent and felt like it could pay off.

Plus there wasn't a team in the Big South like Winthrop's or Asheville's in the past where you would say that they are "unbeatable".

I couldn't be happier for these kids and this coaching staff not just Dale. Vince, Matt and Brian deserve a ton of credit! Also Jason Eaker. I had a text message conversation with Eaker in December and he told me that he would be SHOCKED if they didn't win it all! SHOCKED. Then he told me to save the text messages and talk to him in March!

THAT IS FAITH in your team! I believed but I wasn't as adamant as that. Haize has to admit finally that JC can be a go to guy. He may not be as athletic as Anthony Smith or even Larry Blair but he knows how to score.

Sitting there with Paul Nazigian at Press row made it that much sweeter because we sat next to each other on the Liberty bench for 2 straight final games in 96 and 97 and didn't have the pleasure of celebrating either year.

This one avenges the 97 upset by Chuck South on our court.

Thanks guys!!!!!

Was this the apology thread or the gloat thread? :dontgetit
Down the stretch I liked the ball in JC's hands because he is a solid ball handler and a goodFT shooter. I noted earlier that I thought he has improved and how. Was he MVP?

Cabe had a big game in the final but the MVP was Davon. He hit 17 of 24 from three in the tourney. From what I understand he did the same thing at Monroe College last year this time. He really locks in and plays well in big games.

I'm sorry that I doubted this team, and the coaching staff. Having worked in the athletic department, I should've known better than to count anyone out. For that, I apologize.

The team that went to Conway, SC was not the same team that played the regular season, if that makes sense.

There's a saying in sports, that come tournament/playoff time it's a new season and every team is 0-0. I believe that to be true.

Marshall, Sanders, and Speaks all had a good game in each outing down there. The big men all stepped up their game from what it was during regular season in my opinion.

I seem to recall posting a couple weeks ago what LU needed and it looks like that's what they did in Conway

The way Sanders played yesterday will make me a big fan of his if it continues. He corrected a lot of things I'd been critical of all year.(maybe he reads this and realizes my awesomeness :D ). Having him as a secondary or tertiary weapon is ideal. With Davon going crazy that's where the defense had to focus. With our bigs, that's the second place they had to focus. Which leaves Sanders free to do his thing.
One thing he does better than anyone on the team is feed the post. It still needs work but at least he was looking.

I agree completely Haize on his last line. Even though he was hitting his shots, I wish Trap would dump it down low on some of his drives into the paint because our bigs were often all alone. But when the shots are falling I fully understand wanting to keep chucking them up.

If we would have moved the ball all season like we have the last week this could have been a very different season in the standings. The movement was beautiful to behold.

I'm sorry but our bigs are too soft to finish around the rim. You saw that tonight except for the Smith dunk. Maybe when Burrus returns next year. Our bigs are not part of the offense for a reason.

I'm thinking it's more that we don't have a true PG to get them the ball in the right spots. Also, Coronado has no touch despite how hard he plays.

Really good finish to the season though, and some legit reasons to feel good going into next season.
