So I wouldn't consider it a huge negative that people haven't heard of us.... especially if our #1 priority is to educate.Yeah but name recognition is good when trying to attract non-regional talent. Whether that comes in the form of students, faculty, athletes, etc.

I started at LU in 93, coming from an SBC background in Virginia, and I had never heard of the school before being accepted and knew nothing about it prior to showing up on campus the first time.

It was my jr. yeah in high school, and my dad was flipping channels. He stopped on Jerry Falwell preaching and tuned in just long enough to see a commercial for LU. That was the first I had heard about the school and it peaked my interest enough to look it up.

But in the '70s & '80s it was tough to find an Evangelical who wasn't at least remotely familiar with the school even though we had a much smaller enrollment and practically no alumni base. Today we are having to build our awareness through new methods and have had some success through online. But there is obviously plenty of room for growth.Sly Fox wrote:We were better known a quarter century ago then now thanks to the OTGH.
