First off, no one even mention the playoffs. We will have to go 10-1 to have a chance. With Glenville St and SSU on the schedule, it hurts us A TON in terms of playoffs.
Coastal loses a lot but they have some talent coming back.
CSU loses Drafts who was pretty much their only player.
GWU has a ton of returning players.
I know nothing about VMI except they will have another year in the option.
My conference predictions:
1) Coastal - they lose a lot but they've won it three years in a row. Someone has to knock them off before they lose that title. I think it'll be possible next year, but they have to be the favorites.
2) Liberty - 2-2 this year with the two losses coming by a combined 5 points. We don't lose much at all. Personally, I think we can win the conference next year but until we can beat Coastal we have to be ranked behind them.
3) GWU - They were good this year, they're only going to get better.
4) CSU - They lose Drafts. Enough said.
5) VMI - They're going to be good. However, it's a military school, and with military schools come problems having a winning football team.
Any team in this conference can win any game. There's no team that is head and shoulders above another.
A few things I would like to see at Liberty:
EVERYONE WEAR RED!!!! It looks a lot better when everyone has the same color on. It looks unified.
With that being said, a white out or something like that would be a lot of fun.
Please, for the life of me, do something to encourage students to go to away games. I'm willing to stake my grades from this semester that I was one of the few who knew student tickets were $7 and not $17. It was an hour away and there were barely any students there. With the in-state game next year at W&M and a close game at Elon, we should be able to get a lot of students there. If they're going to claim buses are too expensive then they (Student Flames Club or someone) need to do something to organize car pools and let students know if the other school has student pricing for their tickets. We had a good crowd at VMI today. Imagine if we had students there to back them up.
Move the band one section over closer to the old field house. I love the band, we have a very good one. However, it's just hard to coordinate things during the game with the band right there in the middle of us and not being able to walk across the front row to tell another section something. A unified student section would look and sound better.
Tailgating will be better, that's a given.
I'm sure I'll think of more.
