There were simply too many things that had to go right with this system in order for us to get a major snow out of it. We don't typically see large amounts of snow from systems coming out of the Northwest, unless there's a trough of High Pressure that forces them further south and then up the Eastern seaboard.

Oh everytime the models move the snow accumulations further north those on-air meteorologists jump for joy. That means more people being exposed to the storm, which translates to more viewers for them

10 blocks from the water its not so bad. Yes, please stay in the mountains, we don't need anymore tourists clogging our already congested roads (especially since people seem to forget basic driving principles once they get here).
