Simplistic logos will last. When you add in custom shading and all of that you immediately date yourself. If you take away the gray and the serifs (which cause the random shading on the monogram) then you have a logo and brand that is simplistic in nature and could last a long time.
SuperJon wrote: Champion Serif is one of the worst fonts I've ever seen in my entire life. It's horrendous. This makes the monogram (and all forms of it) look horrible.
Champion Sans looks really, really nice. I like it a lot.
I like the word mark being two colors. The stacked and the horizontal look good, if it weren't for the horrible Champion Serif font and even worse italics.
Team word marks would look great with the Sans font. They look horrible with the italicized Serif font.
replace anything that is in Champion Serif with Champion Sans, and do the monogram in Champion Sans and you've got my full support.

We don't need a reason. We don't question those put in power over us!

Relax, I hated it at first too but the more I look at it and think objectively and not emotionally, it is pretty cool..
I'm not talking emotionally at all. I looked pretty in depth at the branding guide. The serifs and gray stuff looks horrible. Don't worry though, our admin will change their minds in three years and we'll have something new.

How can you look at it emotionally ? I mean you either like it or you don't. I don't care for it but realize that my tastes are not as refined as those in the hierarchy that make this type of decision.
