again- saw the whole thing online... actually looked good on the big flat screen. (Looking forward to LFSN going hi-def)

guys really seemed to run out of gas, but Army hung in there and made a game of it. Bottom of the 11th I decide to run the trash out and miss the walk off run. oh well. MrsPA watched and filled me in

victory in and of itself to co-opt her into watching Flames sports all day! Rock on.

great weekend all around. this team has the chance to do really well.

Nice win in the "frozen tundra" Coldest baseball game of all time. Glad it ended in the 11th.

I'll say it again, Army is going to be a solid team when the year is over. They may not win 40 games again but those two wins will look nice. They play hard and hustle and are pretty fundamentally sound. They just can't hit the ball right now, only two guys in the lineup had an average over .250 right now. They were desperate for a win today and played like it and we still won!

Good to see Graeur get back involved today and Alex had 3 hits today including two extra base hits and a walk off shot. His swing looks a lot better the last two days.

Pitching staff continues to impress from top to bottom. The scary thing is i still think a lot of the pitchers are getting better and will continue to get better. We can make the game 6 innings with Bankemper Perritt and Richardson pumping out low to mid 90's. Mckelvey was electric in the Sienna game topping out at 94. If he and Parks gain Toman's confidence we have 5 guys throwing 90 plus out of the bullpen. Add in Nick Grant and that's 6. Lambert Martin and Herndon can hit 90 today. That's just crazy.

To me Tomans is doing a much better job of managing the game the last few weeks. In fact, i couldn't beleive he didn't bunt Britt today in extras after close led off with a double.

Great weekend for the Flametrain!

I also was surprised that we didn't bunt Close over to third after his leadoff double. Wonder if coach truts Britt a freshmen to lay down a good bunt. The synthetic field is conducive to "small ball". Bunts really die about 15 - 20 feet from home. Army took advantage as they laid down a couple bunts for hits. Sizemore being called out at 3rd on the gap shot goes as one of the worst calls I've ever seen. We showed a lot of grit today nevertheless.

Jinxy, the crazy thing is you forgot maybe our best relief arm right now, Matt Marsh, another high 80s/low 90s arm.

any word on the kid who got spiked in the knee in that play @ 2nd?

think it was Aanderud

and yeah that call on Sizemore at 3rd was horse shi-itte. I'd have lost my stuff over that one

that couldve been a real game changer.

Great weekend - never good to lose a lead but nice to see the guys get back up and win it. Couple of thoughts:

The worst part of the call at third base was that the home plate ump didn't get his butt into position and made the call from 25 feet away from a bad angle.

Wonder also if toman may have had too much confidence in britt hitting to the right side rather than not enough to bunt him. He was motioning to britt when he came into the dugout that he needed to pull the ball.

Also, dont know if it is the cameras that were mentioned for basketball, but the video feed was excellent. Watching it with nick doing the play by play was very enjoyable.

Go Flames!

we're lucky to have npierce84 for sure.

and agree the feed was good- wouldve liked to have a couple more camera angles which I'm sure they will when the park is finished.

also hope to see more in the way of graphics especially when intro-ing hitters, fielder positions, etc

i'm sure its a work in progress.

nice to sit on my couch and watch LU baseball tho

Indeed, forgot about Marsh. He is def. another quality arm out of the pen, man we are loaded. Though i still think he is better in middle relief rather than the setup role.

That call on size was one of the worst calls i've ever seen. I think Anderaud was fine, he stayed in the game and took atleast one more AB. Was it the same guy that had the take out slide on Britt in the first (leadoff). I think he could have been tossed if it was. I've seen worse but he def. went a lot further than he needed to on the slide.
