i remember when i was in high school and would of thought that was awesome. i may be no wiser but i see the ill effect this will have for the rest of the kids life. problem is i have no doubt his parents probably weren't too upset over it.
when i was a sr in high school i was on the soccer team. i had a very successful jr year but sluffed off in the off season and came in to my sr year out of shape. i still was fairly decent but as games went on you could tell i just wasn't keeping up. eventually i wasn't starting anymore and a sophmore took over at my normal position. now the coach didn't like me anyway for some reason so i think he took joy in it but i can see now how it was warranted. i stopped caring at some point in the season and it showed. my beef with it was that this kid was not good at all. i was not the only sr to lose his spot and quickly we went from winning consistantly to losing consistantly and the entire sr class was near mutiny as we felt our PT got smaller and smaller as the season wore on. we talked about doing something like this....but in the end common sense prevailed and we did nothing.
