According to the release posted on the website...

LFSN will be offered for a September 2013 launch to broadcast stations in every market, to regional cable networks, and to national satellite platforms.
I think they are trying to get it there FFVA

Even the old dcTalk crew weighs in on the old circle dorms coming down ...
Knoxville (TN) News-Sentinel wrote:And McKeehan hasn't forsaken the past. He says he still talks with his former DC Talk partners on a regular basis.

"We found out they're tearing down all the dorms where we met," says McKeehan. "Tait was getting all emotional about it. I told him, 'Are you kidding? They needed to be torn down!' But we do talk about doing something together again someday."

I got a tour of the library yesterday and all I have to say is "WOW!". I never would have imagined looking out of the back of the old Schilling post office 6 years ago and envisioning that. Cannot wait to see what it looks like completed. I'll post the two pics I have later today.

Nobody to blame but me on that one, 4everfsu. The construction of a freestanding School of Engineering was announced before Dad died. After becoming President, I weighed all the pros and cons and decided that the School of Engineering should stay on Main Campus for the short term while pursuing ABET accreditation.

Ok thanks for that info, any future dates for its constructions and will other engineering majors be added.

What is going in the behind the baseball stadium? There appears to be some leveling happening as we speak.

If so two good majors. Maybe with the mechanical they can have an aerospace concentration available.

I'm not sure, just what I'm hoping. If we want to go where the money is...we need to get into oil/gas. The Bakken play is still boooming and will be for another few decades. Mechanical is just obvious as its one of the "smart" engineering majors.

Bakken has an estimated 200 - 400 billion barrels...we're only recovering about 700,000 per day. That my friends, is a heck of a lot of oil.

I agree with you about Petroleum engineering future for graduates but usually it is offered as a major by schools in the areas of oil industry companies like U of Tulsa, UND. You have nuclear engineering companies in the Lynchburg area so nuclear engineering may be something to look into. I don't think too many colleges in VA offers it. Also you could have a small nuclear reactor built to power not only LU but maybe sell the power also to the local electric company and make a profit. Also chemical engineering major would be a good choice if Petroleum major is not offered, petroleum companies hire chemical engineers.

Little known fact. Disney World's agreement with the State of Florida allows them to build and operate a nuclear power station if they so desire. Sorta weird and not sure at all relevant.

The costs associated with developing one (a reactor) would be astronomical. CAER in New London has developed with B&W and Areva, control simulators as well as a next gen reactor simulator that would be ideal for a university to to align itself with. That is the direction they should go in if they want to develop a Nuclear Engineering program, IMHO. Also, affiliated degrees like Welding engineering would be great too. That would fit into nuclear as well as oil/gas programs.

Lived down there for a year. Crazy how much revolves around WDW.
Maybe around Orlando. Here, everything revolves around the snow birds.

Yes schools do, I believe U of Tenn does,NCSU and Missouri school of science and technology(Miss Tech) does.
