That's the stuff. Those uniforms look sharp too. I think what I like best about him is his ability to create jaw dropping highlights without touching the rim. I love it when players don't have to dunk to be a good watch. Not sure if we can say that about anyone on the team right now.

I like a dead solid 3 point shooter, an assassin that can kill an opponent with a three point dagger. Marshall seems to be your version of that. Landis is ours but his shot has left him this season, but Hartley has been on fire as of late. Best example overall I could think of is Dennis Scott at Georgia Tech that one year he destroyed UNC.

What about Glen Rice? Senior season @ Michigan shot .516 99 of 192 behind the stripe. In my opinion one of the best shooters of all time.

Steve Kerr hit 57.3% (114 of 199) his senior year at Arizona. He only played one season with the three point line in effect.

I am a huge Pistol Pete fan. With all the scoring records that he still holds to this day, can you imagine how much more larger and unreachable they would be had the Pistol played with a 3 point line at LSU? That my friends is scary.

I remember one time at the old Hive during early pregame warmups watching Scott with the Magic and Dell Curry with the Hornets play a game of Horse. The crowd was going ape. Stuff like sitting on the press table shooting, shooting over the back of the backboard, etc. Crazy.

I admittedly know nothing about Rick Mount, but his career ABA stats are underwhelming to say the least: 43.3% field goal percentage, 31.7% from 3 point range and 82% from the FT line. Why do you think he's the best ever?

Look at his college career and do some reading on him and you will come to the same conclusion. This is a case where stats don't tell the entire story.

I did a little bit of reading and it definitely seems that he was a great scorer. I guess I'll need to take your word for it regarding his shooting abilities. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but they're usually a big part of the story. Maybe not in this particular case.

Agreed. But think about the era. He wasn't a great ABA/NBA player for numerous reasons. Shot selection, ego and injuries play into it. But I have seen a lot of shooters and this guy still is amazing.

Would you not agree that playing against more defenders with superior athletic ability contributed to his lower shooting % as a pro?

I don't know if he played against MORE defenders but certainly more athletic. He was always subject to double teamsand junk defenses in college. He will even admit he was not the most "professional" professional.

Bad example. UNCA won 25 games last year. That´s hardly 12 and 18. We´re talking here about teams that are mediocre at best all year and get in soley on a run in their conference tournament.

And beat St. Johns in the garden. Syracuse knew they didn´t have a cakewalk and they were still lucky to win.
