Our late signees last year were pleasant surprises. Possibly one or more players who were holding out in hopes of a last minute FCS offer. One can hope. I like what we have and anything more will be ¨gravy¨.

Since I don´t think we had anywhere near 20 scholarship Seniors last year, it leads me to believe there will be more news forthcoming about players leaving the program.

My thoughts as well; unless some of those recruits are preferred walk-on's of which, if not mistaken, would sign a NLI as well...

Or maybe there will be a need for more scholarship players in the near future ...

Preferred walk on's do not sign NLI.

The three Houston kids has me back on my heels. I guess I am going to have to pay closer attention to my hometown after back to years of surprises.

Somewhere Haize & ballcoach are less than pleased with six Texans instead of six Seminole District kids in the class.

Not a great year for Seminole kids. Clearly, the best players in the area this year were from LCA in Pfaff and Hartman. The only other area Division I signee was Marquis Brown from Amherst, who signed with Norfolk.

(I know you were joking, of course, but I thought I'd interject anyway.)

I agree Haize. We need to get the best kids, regardless of where they're from.

There really werent a lot of gamechangers in the area this year (at least at positions we had need of) except for the two already mentioned (and Mosley who has been pretty quiet about his recruiting process)

Mosely might end up being a preferred walk-on. Frank Rocco said he expected some more announcements later re: football. Tyler Meeks from LCA committed to be a preferred walkon today. Marcus Alexander ended up going to Shepherd.

as how the class is? Liberty was spoiled couple of years with beating out BCS schools years past with connections ala Dallas Griffiths and Grant Jones. This year they really only had one recruit they beat out a couple BCS schools for (Kris Wilson) a few players with FBS offers and rest FCS offers. Time will tell how good they will be but alot of them have good speed and the oline has good strength and foot work already. just have to see how it translates.

btw i heard Grant Jones is getting the Grey Shirt and that's why he is missing on the roster.

I call it a solid class. We got help in some very key areas: OL, DL, and LB, picked up a very solid QB who will no doubt push Woodrum and Shashaty, got two very good future RBs in Smith and Macon (who could be AA 2.0 after some time under "Kill Bill"), and another big target who could give our QBs a downfield threat in Fritts. Nicely done by Coach Gill and his staff
