Yea to be honest as an ex player and current spectator I cant stand the style of play we have now but I think it is more dictated by the recruits we can get at this point in time. I will say one positive thing about RD he was an amazing recruiter.

maybe the elite prospects just don't want to play for a "religious" school?

(REAL christian school I mean, not Duke, Wake, etc)

lets be honest, if you want the "action" that normally accompanies big time hoops it's easier to find elsewhere.

we do clean up on the homeschooled white kids tho

and there ya go. Took several pages but we have come full circle on this one.

Itd be interesting to see LU playing an uptempo, "Showtime" or "VMI" style of offense, but I think we could make a style like that work (look at the games we played with VMI over the last couple of years)

No worries but I can't go around making exceptions! :D I mean if I let you get by with it than I have to let everyone get by with it!

I to would like to see more of an up tempo game. What we do now isn't gonna appeal to anyone, or attract anyone. Just draining shot clock trying to get ball inside is not a good offense at this level. run the floor, shoot 3s, make it exciting

Cmon stop dodging and name the ACC player who would have gone to LU if we offered

The school cut Smitty a lot of slack to keep him around those 4 years.

A lot of opponents who had to deal with him would probably dispute the apparent assumption that Jesse Sanders was not athletic.

Looks like Antwan Burrus is going to stick around for 5, and he will finish his career as the second leading shot blocker in school history at only 6 foot 6. He also has a couple of SC top 10s, which I believe matches Smitty´s career total with a year to go.

I take responsibility for ballcoach's latest attempt to dodge the question 84 because I mentioned running an uptempo 1980s LA Lakers type offense...but I do agree that he ought to give us a name if he is going to stand so firmly behind it

While im glad Burrus is staying all 5 years I would hardly call him an athletic player. He is a great asset to our team but not a major athlete in any sense.

and another thing. at mens games I often see the women's coach up in the stands, talking with fans. I have never seen any men's coaches doing the same. Heck they seem relucdant to come out of locker room for their own games.

if thats the case, I played against him several times when he came to look at the school and actually that was during RD's days and yes for some reason there was no interest on LU's side...so if thats who he is talking about that is correct but was also about 8 years ago
