If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Without a doubt it's surprising to see them struggle this much. They dropped off a bit from 1998-2004, but not to this extent. I'd be surprised if this is not just a down year for them after winning 22 games last season.

I would have to agree...Blaine Taylor is a good coach. He had some rough sailing after taking over for Jeff Capel but he has done very well. Hopefully they can weather the storm this year

Kentucky's RPI is higher than Maryland's... http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... rpi/index1 UK 61, Maryland 63. Varies depending on where you look, but every free site I have seen has Kentucky above Maryland.

Additionally, Ken Pomeroy has Kentucky 10th, Maryland 48th (http://kenpom.com/) and Jeff Sagarin has it as Kentucky 25, Maryland 35 (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/s ... kt1213.htm)

No. Never has been and never will be this year. Everyone knew going in this year that it would be a down year for college hoops, similar to two years ago which produced one of the worst Final Fours in the recorded history of college athletics in terms of team quality, talent, and quality of games.

The game of Hot Potato with the #1 ranking continues as Michigan falls to Indiana and with Kansas losing, Indiana will re-ascend to the top spot more than likely in the new rankings this week

Indiana, our Indiana
Indiana, we're all for you!
We will fight for the cream and crimson
For the glory of old IU
Never daunted, we cannot falter
In the battle, we're tried and true
Indiana, our Indiana,
Indiana we're all for you! I-U!

Indiana Fight

Fight for the Cream and Crimson, (or Crean and Crimson)
Loyal sons of our old I. U.
Fight for your Alma Mater,
and the school you love so true.
Fight for old Indiana,
See her victories safely through,
GO! I.U! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
For the glory of old I. U.!

Now back to regularly scheduled programming. And as I said earlier,Victor Oladipo is amazing and the most under rated player coming into the season. Glad he is finally getting respect.

I thought Michigan really looked good at the tail end of the first half. Halftime almost killed their momentum.

They settled for too many jump shots. IU did a nice job on Burke. They really had a plan to force him to one side and help. IU, as opposed to LU, had too many TO's.

If IU can find a way to quit throwing the ball to the other team, they are going to be really tough to beat. The first 10 minutes of that game was awesome.
Go Hoosiers!

You would expect more turnovers from IU with the tempo they play but there were too many the other night. I know i said earlier I thought IU was over rated at #1 but it seems this year it is #1 by committee. Now to christen Bob Knight Court at Assembly Hall! Play Basketball
Michigan looked ok, but showed they were young. They will be a force for several years. Must be their Associate Head Coach :D When they put it together they will be formidable, if they all stay.
I love the fact that there are so many players related of NBA players I watched back in the day Glenn Robinson, Tim Hardaway. Harvey Grant, X-Man, John Stockton, and I'm sure one or two of Shawn Kemps kids!

#2 Florida gets hammered by Arkansas last night which I believe puts Duke on the cusp of #1 should Indiana lose this week

Yeah, I am pretty sure mine may be worse then normal. Actually it may be better this year knowing my luck, haha

I may just give the guy who runs my bracket pools and not fill one out. Probably have the same result!

Michigan throws up all over themselves against Wisconsin and blows their chance to ascend back to #1. Looks like Duke will ascend to #1 purely based on attrition this week with Gonzaga possibly moving up to #2 and Arizona returning to the top 5 as well

If anyone is paying attention, ND vs Louisville is 100-98 with 2 minutes left in OT5. ND has a kid who has put up 14 points and 6 boards and he didn't play a single minute in regulation.

And Russdiculous had five chances to win or tie the game near or at the end of each OT session and missed every one of them, along with numerous other back breaking mistakes earlier in the OT sessions. I bet Mike Brey was thrilled to see that idiot with the ball in his hands on UL's last possession in 5OT. The one where he dribbled the ball 10 feet out from the three point line then just jacked up a three at the buzzer was beyond baffling. Can't believe Pitino never bothered to call a timeout for their last possession until the 5th OT after the awful game Russ Smith had been having, what a colossal failure of coaching. I know having Chane Behanan get the ball on all of those possessions would have been impractical since they were down three sometimes, but the fact he doesn't even touch the ball on the times they were down 2 on the last possession is a joke. That guy had been using and abusing Notre Dame all night long more than an alcoholic uses and abuses shots of tequila at a bar having a going out of business sale. Sure, ND could have fouled the poor FT shooter in Behanan, but they didn't exactly have the quality bodies to be intentionally fouling a guy with some of these weak fouls the refs were calling.
