No doubt. I like the O-line recruiting so far as well as the ongoing recruiting of 6'3" receivers. Can't wait to see if any of the remaining prospects on the board come our way. It will be interesting to hear their comments on why they decided to chose LU, especially their perspective on what they've been told about our move to FBS.
Once we get this behind us we can then start chatting up the Spring Game and after that the schedule and after that "predictions."

Go Flames!!!

Id reckon the schedule will come out around signing day. there are still a lot of teams with openings on their schedule to fill with the 12 game slate this year, so hopefully we can nail down one or two solid opponents to fill out the home slate

I am looking forward to signing day and for about 25 years now I have followed who LU signs very closely but I have not observed practices but have followed games and make it a point to attend at least one a year in person. I live in Delaware so attending games involve a lot of committment on my part and not easy to fit it my schedule since I am married and have a busy schedule.

I have reviewed who has verballed to LU and my impression is that this is a very mediocre class only based on what is on paper and in Rivals profiles. Others on this board have seen some of these future signees in person and have good things to say about their ability and what they could possibly do for us in the future and I think that what they say is legitimate although I have my doubts at times. I think that last years class was better based on the fact that we signed 4 that were 3 star rated recruits, i think. But the bottom line is how they perform on the field and not what is on paper. A good coach can recognize "hidden talent" and maybe sometimes that is not reflected in the Rivals ratings and awards and such. I believe in Coach Gill and his assistant coachs all have good credentials to establish a winning tradition. Maybe most of our better recruits are still contemplating signing with other bigger schools and are not showing anywhere but we will find out come signing day.

My point is I think that we should be able to attract better recruits given our resources and our vision for the future but I guess time will tell and if we can establish a winning program and get to the playoffs and do well against the best that 1AA has to offer my concerns will be a thing of the past.

It appears to me that we need O and D line help and we signed O and D line help. It would be nice if we could singe some play making WR but so does everyone!

Course we dont always have to have the five 4 and 5 star kids coming here. Would be good to have yes but as long as we have good evaluators and developers of talent, you can take a 2 or 3 star player and turn him into a superstar by the time he graduates (if not sooner).

The class is coming together nicely. Really impressed with Newman the most. He seems like he could be the next Brent Vinson but even better with his size. I usually look at the frame and build of the players and Brucki and Fritts look good there as well. The two kid's that Manson tweeted today look really good as well, especially Green. Scott and Masha look like solid pickups that should help after a redshirt year as well.

Really like to get a DE, LB and one more athlete and we should be about set.

Any of you guys that are in the loop hear any more guy's that are on the cuff. Seems like most of the kids we were well connected with have either committed to us or somewhere else recently. Anyone heard anything on the DE from Texas (do we still have any shot at him)?

Completely agree on Newman and surprised there was not more excitement on this board over his committment - you never know with recruiting but I like the fact that he had other viable options such as Temple and Delaware - seems like all of our sports end up getting many players whose other options were not stellar.

If we are going to go big time, it is a requirement that we have some folks on here act like fools and place football recruiting somewhere on the priority list above their spouse, job and just about any other area of life you can think of. :)

I think in another thread I mentioned that we have two "big body" RBs on our board still left (one of them an LCA product) so I think getting one of those might give us a real "thunder and lightning" possibility. I was down at 12th street yesterday and came across a video from 1999 featuring Walt Heilig and Stacy Nobles (Im sure many of the old hags know those names) and I think that would be a nice possibility, having a combo like that

Be honest, Purple: we all know you dated the linebacker-type of girls in high school.
