I have a problem with Ray Lewis being lauded for being so publicly spiritual while mis quoting scripture. A man who has multiple kids with multiple women and who is at best an accessory to murder gets praised for his spiritual beliefs, but another guy who is actually less vocal in his faith, goes on mission trips, uses his signing bonus to build a hospital, abstains from alcohol and premarital sex gets excoriated by the same media for pushing his religion on people.

rueful wrote:My problem with Ray Lewis isnt the murder, it's the 6 kids by four women and still not being married. The murder is nothing to hold over him, but this is hard to explain away as not still living in Sin. Everyone still sins, thats a granted, but this is one that he isnt making any repentance about or trying to quit.

So, which babymomma are you suggesting he should marry? If he is currently living with one of them in a stable and monogamous relationship, do you really believe he is sinning every time he has sex with his partner because they have never been married in the eyes of the law?

In my eyes, thats a sin. Again, we all sin. But if an alcoholic was still going to the bars every night, we'd say he needs help, even if he came to church every Sunday and confessed and repented. There's just no repentance in that situation, and it also shows he's got some weak men as accountability partners who wont stand up to him.
