So...... I'm guessing no Stadium Expansion as they havent started on any type of construction to the Stadium other than adding more parking at the FOC. :dontgetit Last time I checked we have to have a minimum 30,000 seating capacity to make the jump to FBS level competition.

I am pretty sure the only attendance requirement is averaging 15,000 per game. I don't know of a stadium requirement, but I could be wrong.

Right. There's no 30,000 rule anymore. Used to be.

Was it from this guy?

Oh, ok. That HoldMyOwn guy seems like he'd be a pretty reliable source as well.

Per my sources, the expansion is still on. The delay is due to finishing the baseball stadium first. Too much construction. However, not much talk about it within the operations; things could change I guess.

Practice bubble is also a go. I believe it will only be half a field though.

If I was in charge of this operation, I'd hold off for another year. Not because I don't have vision, but because I think it would be nice to give Gill another year to get the team on the right track and increase the fanny-seat ratio in the Bill.

Or just wait until the student population cap is raised and there are more students to fill that side...but I guess to impress you must build even if it is empty.

Field of Dreams - "If you build it they will come"

Isn't that what LU is going for, a field of Falwell's dreams. Attendance has not been bad, per say, with over 17,000 a home game. Even at the height of this year's losing streak 17,100+ fans entered the stadium against Lehigh. Also, against the lowliest of teams 18,200+ fans attended(vs. Gardner Webb) Although this is far from selling out, expansion of the stadium will be attractive to the MAC, CUSA, and Sun Belt when debating who should be the next team to offer. Conference presidents would rather see a university put words into action rather than just 'lip-service'

Why wait around when the expansion was already set in place. Let's not procrastinate.

The first part is the worst marketing strategy ever.

But with your last line you may want to submit an application to Cider Jim for position of Message Board Laureate :D Study

Anybody think that the expansion was haulted because they just had the State championship games there this past weekend? Seems logical to me. I see them picking up and starting construction soon.

Half right. Of course they would have waited for the state championships to be played. But i still doubt it happens but I've argued about this for awhile to no avail. If there's a demand for luxury boxes at least, build it.

I sure hope the residents of the boxes on the other side of the stadium are given the highest quality sunglasses to wear for day games. Oh, and they should throw in enough sun screen to cover the left side of everyone in the box's face as well!

I heard it was a go, they wanna delay start because of other projects already underway, and the traffic problem it will create having to merge traffic to one lane to get by on the road behind the stadium right now

Also, a very interesting comment on CONFERENCE expansion. He was asked about and said.....and I want to quote him because it is very fascinating........"We're still talking to a conference we have been talking to for a while, but it is not ideal."

What does he mean? Obviously he is talking about an FBS conference because he was not asked about a lateral move it was specific to FBS. So, which conference is this? Sun Belt? If so what is not ideal about it? Are they asking for too many stipulations? Would we have to drop some of our collegiate sports offerings?

There is a lot that can be inferred by this one statement but at face value all we can learn is that, we have been in talks with an FBS conference and it is not an ideal situation for the university or its sports.
