If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

CUSA - At this point you have to think it becomes stronger than the Big East, and on the east coast at least, the strongest non BCS conference. National appeal with regional travel partners.
No sir, at this point the Big East is still stronger then CUSA.

I have no doubt in my mind that App St and Georgia Southern will be the next 2 invited.

The real question is whether the Sun Belt want to jump to 12 football-playing teams like Benson wanted all along. When Benson was the commish for the WAC, he showed that he can get too anxious when it comes to expanding. However with 2 possibly 3 members leaving, I have a feeling that he will be able to change the conference presidents minds by going with a 12 FB-playing members/14 all-sports members set-up. Liberty will fit in on the eastern side and maybe Lamar or New Mexico St will fit in on the western side to even things out. A 14-team set-up could look like this:

Sun Belt - EAST
Liberty
Appalachian St
Western Kentucky
Troy
South Alabama
Georgia Southern
Georgia St

Sun Belt - WEST
Arkansas St
*Ark – Little Rock
Louisiana-Monroe
Louisiana-Lafayette
*UT – Arlington
Texas St
Lamar (or New Mexico St)

I know there is a "fingers in your ears" mentality by some. Have the correct dominoes fallen? Yes. But there have already been reports/speculation that the Sun Belt is talking to NMSU today and Idaho is still floating around out there. Also, lets say Jacksonville State and other FCS schools are interested then why does Liberty jump to the front of the line? B/c Carr says so?

Your probability has gone up, but I wouldn't be popping the champagne sparkling grape soda as of yet.

Now the talk has shifted to CUSA adding another belt member, possibly Western Kentucky. That would be great news for Liberty, but I would not want to be one of the established teams in the Sun Belt that gets left behind. That's a bad feeling.

because those other FCS schools have been documented or rumored in one way or another to not be ready. But those fan bases always seem to ignore it. Us and App are basically the only ones saying, come pick us now, we're ready tomorrow. And out of us 2, we're the ones that don't require a sherpa guiding a bus up a donkey trail to get to for a game.

On a side note, looking at the SBC board, it is comical how much they all dislike us. I absolutely love that because obviously they have no say.

SumItUp wrote:CUSA could add FAU this week. That would be two defections from the Sun Belt this week. Sun Belt went from 12 to 10 in the offseason and this would drop them to 8. I like the idea of an FCS 4-pack to the Sun Belt: Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, James Madison & Liberty.
Oh wow, I totally forgot about JMU. I think I forgot them because I feel they may accept a C-USA or a MAC invite before the Sun Belt. The Big East is probably out of their reach due too their current tv market... I do like the idea of the Sun Belt adding those four schools though. With those four, you get regional rivals (LU & JMU), conference rivals (App St & GSU), and a fierce rivalry in JMU and App St all within the Sun Belt footprint.

Louisville has no business in ACC, nor does any other Big East school, including Pitt and Syracuse.

LU needs to leave Big South immediately and go to first full D1 conference that will issue an invatation.

What does that even mean? It is pretty much 100% business.

They will definitely jump to any conference if an invite comes.

That'd be great news if your sources are correct. We'd have to be in the Sun Belt very soon, right?

I’ve been told it’s finalized. Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic and New Mexico State are joining C-USA.

I don’t know the time frame. WKU and NMSt could be partners in waiting. I’ve merely been told “They’re in” re: WKU and NMSt.

@trenfrow I’ve had people telling me all day. I’m going with the information I’ve been given.

I was getting ready to post something similar and did not know how to word it. I'm in agreement with you.
