This is not a shot at Gill because I think he will do us well, but what has he done that would prompt any of these schools to hire him?? It would be a very risky and even less popular for any of those schools you mentioned

Auburn was interested before. Even the heckler in the vid mentioned his name

That was before his disastrous 2 years at Kansas. Turner has some work to do to reestablish his credibility before he will have a real shot at jobs like that again.

That is what I thought but I can't say I follow college football coaching hires that closely to remember correctly.

I like Turner Gill but the only reason he is at Liberty is because of those years at Kansas. It will take some time before he gets that kind of attention again.

It is looking more & more like Mack might choose to "retire" a la his old friend Darrell Royal. If it happens, the two names atop the UT wish list are Petersen & (gasp) Saban. The latter would make it tough for me to cheer for the Horns.

I feel like as soon as I say this, Saban will jump, but I don't see him leaving Alabama. He's got a good thing going there and I think maybe he's learned from past mistakes.

He's Mr. Happy Feet. And believe it or not, it should be easier to win titles in Austin. Better resources in a league where you should get a shot at the title by running the table with less hazards.

For the record, Chip Kelly is considered a top candidate for a number of NFL gigs once the regular season ends.

This. I've read that many Pac 12 coaches wanted ORegon to win the championship so Kelly would leave.

Because college coaches do so well in the pros  at least Pete Carrill had NFL experience and is a perfect fit for the Seattle market.
