It is not that wide open. The conference games are scheduled. We just need to place them. But we do have a slew of dates that as of this fall needed to be filled. One was caused by Stony Brook bolting.

2013 and 2014 are 12 game schedule opportunities for 1-AA's.......

With a decrease in available FCS schools due to move-ups & move-downs, filling a 12-game schedule with all DIs & managing 6 home dates is proving to be exceedingly difficult these days for nearly everyone in FCS.

I think this has been said on a couple of occasions, but Liberty is in a difficult place as far as scheduling goes. To teams in power conferences, we arent a high quality enough team (even during the DR years) where winning would do them good in the final analysis (for postseason play) and certainly would do them significant harm in a loss, but at the same time, we arent bad enough to where itd be a "easy victory". Because of that, you dont see teams like GSU, App State, Wofford, Delaware, Villanova, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, North Dakota State, et al. ringing our phone off the hook to play games in Lynchburg.
