jbock when you say just ask 'them', who is 'them'?? There is no way you have talked to the majoriy of liberal thinking people.

I am unashamidly conservative in be philosphies, but I would never speak in the over gernalizations that you do. It makes you look naive. Which you probably are

Also I'm not trying to win anyone over. You can't argue with liberals as it is anyway, its a waste of time. The majority of the leech of the government, or are dependent on government, so no amount of persuasion will help them. Just ask them about issues of tax policy and economics. They have no clue. All they do is puppet "tax the rich", just like good little parrots. They don't know the causation of such policies, and nor are most of them intelligent enough to understand them.

As to your point Bush and free government phones, correct. That's what we call compassionate conservatism (also known as handing out freebies to prove we don't hate people, as an excuse to compromise to the Democrats once again.)

Actually, I kind of am an elitist. Heck I'll admit it. But slightly more libertarian than conservative.

But regardless this is what I believe. And I haven't seen anyone present a case contrary to my opinion. I have Democrat friends. But they know what I think of their politics. Doesn't mean I hate them.

Also, of course by them I mean democrats. I'm not saying that all are stupid. Some are brilliant. Bill Clinton and James Carville know more about politics than Karl Rove's five chins ever will. Obama certainly isn't incompetent, he knows his policies will lead to class warfare, and intentionally so. What I am saying, is when 47% receive net subsidies from the government, they will always vote for the party who promises not to take away their goodies. That's the Democrat party.

There are plenty of democrats that I know that work hard. Most democrats aren't lazy.

If you had said the majority of unemployed people sucking off the government lean democrat then I could see where you were coming from, but the whole 'most democrats are lazy' is asinine.

I'm with JB on this one... I'm really surprised at the number of people on this board actually arguing against it. I don't know that I'd say that Democrats are stupid, or don't work. But, in general, the Democrats have increased their appeal in national elections because they have effectively managed to enroll a large and growing number of the electorate into entitlement programs. These people (regardless of demographics, or employment) almost always vote for the one's that give them the goodies. Look at the numbers in some of the key swing states. In the urban areas that are generally more poor, they voted for Obama in an overwhelming fashion. I heard recently that there were dozens of districts in areas of Philly, PA where Romney did not receive one vote.

A new report from the Department of Agriculture came out today showing that new records continue to be set regarding the number of people in this country enrolled in the foodstamp programs. Do you guys not realize that your tax dollars are being used to buy elections now?

Well I provided some data to back up why I believe what I believe. There's plenty more I can throw at you, but it doesn't appear you're open to hearing it at this point since your only response to what I said was to assert that I live in a bubble... Interesting.

Once again, here's a look at younger Evangelicals and the disconnect with the GOP. Somehow this was pulled down as not relevant to the discussion even though it hits specifically at a big issue that Republicans need to deal with if they want to get back into the White House any time soon.

You provided hearsay, not any actual data. How about a link or two that provides something other than conjecture to back up your position?

Okay - let me back up here because I just realized what JB was saying... I don't believe that all Democrats don't work. However, I do believe that a majority of people either working for, or receiving benefits from government, are Democrats.

As for JB's comments... that's a little harder to prove I think...

Why are the Democrats so focused on making sure that benefits keep being handed out to those who have no willingness to work?

Also, who do you think is protesting with the Obamaphone lady? Also,

See a theme here? And because Obama knows he can't literally do this, he redistributes the wealth so that the government pays this lady not to work. Sounds like she knows who she's voting for, because Barack Santa Claus Obama will get her all her free goodies.

I think it's fair to say, these people are Democrats.

Again if you had said most of the people living off the government vote democrat there is no way I could ever disagree with that, but you said most democrats don't work or at least don't work much. That is what I am debating.

Again that is pretty much saying the majority of people who vote democrat are lazy people. I just don't believe that to be accurate. I think that kind of thinking only gets in the way of attempting to make things better in this country. I don't understand why the democrats see things the way they do. To me it just makes zero sense, but how is calling them lazy going to make things better? Its alienating and something that simply isn't true.

Of course I have no statistics to back my statements up, but if I googled something really fast like NotAJerry does then maybe I could pull something out of my jerk too.

95% of African-Americans voted for Obama. I dont believe its the closed-mindedness of concervatives we need to worry about...the problem is howto actually convey to the American people that its NOT about race when it actually is. I'm afraid it may never come back around though and the days of the GOP are numbered. Sigh
