Duquesne will be an NCAA team this year now that they have a good point guard. They would have been in NCAA last year but their Sr point guard went down halfway through the year, they were 14-3 at the time and went 8-9 the remainder of the season without her and ended up in WNIT for the 4th year in a row. They are a little more aggressive and athletic than we are hence the 35 TOs. Sure miss Avery. Katelyn Adams played well in her first game.

Katelyn Adams was a surprise off the bench with 8 Pts & 8 Rebs. If we can get that type of production out of her consistently then our prospects start looking much better.

I agree this bodes well for the future, but while we are talking about our young centers, does anyone know why Katherine Kearney didn´t play?

After looking closely at the box score, 2 things stand out to me. Hate to beat beat the same old dead horse, but 35 turnovers is simply unacceptable. We shot a higher % from the field and the line, and we outrebounded them by 10. No team should lose by 17 points when they do that, but it happens to us regularly against quality opponents. The other thing that makes me scratch my head is the fact that your senior star is scoring almost a point a minute and is not in foul trouble, but you still insist on sitting her for almost half the game.

She tweaked her knee in practice and was being kept out of tonight's game for precautionary measures.

She also was coming off knee surgery in the summer. That's why the knee brace and the limited minutes. 35 TOs means you're giving the opponent 20 extra shots at the basket. I believe Duquesne had at least 20 extra shots and got to the foul line more because they had more offensive possessions. Give any team 20+ extra possessions and they will probably win regardless of the number of rebounds we get.
