I trust my refrigerator, not the government. Besides, power goes off constantly where I live anyway.

He trusts the Government to tell him whether his food is edible but not for anything else :D

It was snowing when I left the house. But I'm 600 feet above Liberty's elevation.

Seeing snow flurries among the rain drops here in NoVa.

The damage from Ocean City up to Lower Manhattan is astonishing. They're seriously talking about it taking a month to clean out the subway system in NY.

I'm pretty sure that was my brother-in-law and a friend of his. They were also seen on Fox News out at the pier in Va Beach. Megyn Kelly was talking about them live on the air.

What I always love is how righteously indignant the reporter or anchor will be about people goofing around.

Lighten up people.

Run to Walmart and be prepared!

Possible snow/ice storm on the 26'th-27'th.

Here's a good map of what we're looking at from the Euro model

If you're lying… you're dying.

I read 3-6 inches possible. What say you?

Are you guys talking Lynchburg? I have not checked any weather reports but just having looked outside for the last few days and seeing standing water in my yard, I can't imagine any accumulation. I guess the ground could freeze up though.

Yes, Lynchburg. People want to say the ground will be too warm. Not true. The cold rain we've gotten sucks the warmth out of the ground, and lowers temperatures so it will stick faster. We're also talking about snow rates of 1-2 inches an hour, so that will stick to pretty much anything, especially after sundown.

I saw the channel 7 and channel 10 forecasts this morning. They're clueless.

I've found that all they care about is Roanoke. Their Lynchburg predictions are never worth anything.

Click on the pictures for a better view. First up is the 12z NAM, which shows around 6 inches of snow. Lastly, the 06z GFS, which comes in at about 9-10 inches.

Yes. It should start out as rain tomorrow morning. I expect to the changeover to occur by at least 1-4pm. When the changeover occurs, expect snow surpassing an inch an hour. The roads will get messy.

Looking out the window, if there is significant snow accumulation, it will be unlike anything I've seen my entire life. Current conditions are basically what I would dread to see as a kid because that meant all we would get was slush on the ground if you were lucky. Though I'm certainly not saying it's not going to happen. Pretty much everyone agrees at this point.

Accuweather was calling for 4-8 inches… but they have pulled back on that.

I stand by my call. 5-8. Ignore accuweather, that's a model, not an actual person.

I ignore accuweather as a general rule anyway. They're just awful, even the human mets.
